This is me in 1999. I was 5'2" and 276. When someone first mentioned Atkins it was in passing and all she ate was hotdogs and cheddar cheese. Needless to say it didn't appeal to me. I tried it again later (without reading the book) and ate steak and green beans most of the time. I lost around 30 pounds or so.
I lost more weight when I had a change in lifestyle (new job, divorce, during the divorce I lost 280 lbs, but he was the easiest to let go hee hee) I got down to 164 before I got pregnant. 10 weeks after my lil' guy was born, I was 5 pounds lighter than when I got pregnant, putting me at 159. (let's just say, throwing up daily for 8 months will do that for you) Now I have creeped, or raced, up to 195(in a matter of 10 months) as of 2 weeks ago. I hated to think I had worked so hard on my weight only to hit 200 lbs again. I had to do something. I knew for weeks I would start Atkins. I kinda had to gear myself up for it. I couldn't just say I wanted to lose weight, I had to get in my head that I wanted it more than Coke and rice (my favorite carbs). Now I am here, shining like a ketosian beacon, burning the midnight oil and loving it.
I can't say it has been a CLEAN Induction for the past two weeks. But only 2 days were slightly dingey, the next morning I was right back on the wagon. I must say, the view is nicer on the wagon.
So here is me, shootin' to be back in my Jordache's on Christmas.

Sorry about the quality of the picture. It's a scan of a scan that was transferred to fabric. All of my other HW pictures were *cough cough* lost in a move.
I am so glad to have found this board. Ya'll are great!!
Austlyn, hang in there!! It is an achievable goal!! And worth it!!
