  • Newbie here

    Hello all,
I really like the board and what everyone is doing here. Its a great place for support and too learn.
I am just starting my induction phase and very hopefull that I can stay on track this time.
I had planned on starting the diet a few months ago, but ended up having back surgery so had to postpone it a bit. My weight has helped progress my disc degeneration so I ended up having to get artificial discs, a fusion and plates put in....anyway...the day before surgery I was 280 and my goal is to get down to around 220. I am 6'2" so i figure thats a weight I am comfortable with.
Take care and I look forward to being part of the website.

    Thanks

Thanks, and yes I am healed up pretty good. I have physical therapy 4X a week so that has helped get me back up to speed.
The only thing I am restricted from doing are crunches and things that pull on my lower back or stomach. I can hit the treadmill though....will wait to start lifting weights or anything like that.

Welcome to ADBB! You've come to the right place for information, support and encouragement. Btw...Atkins does wonders for backs! At least it did for mine (two slipped discs)... a combination of the weight loss and the exercise. Now my back is better than it has been for years. Lots of other little middle age niggles disappeared too!

          Happy losing!
