  • Texas girl here...

Hey, my name is Erin, and I'm new! Here's the Readers Digest Condensed version of my life: I have always thought I was fat, but never really was. I stayed right about 130 all through high school. I had my son at 21, so of course that was my highest weight, right about 185. Then I lost quite a bit of weight, down to 140, sorta doing slim fast with no excercise. In the last few years, I had gained back up to like 150, then about 6 months ago, I quit smoking, and BAM!! Like 15 or 20 lbs. So my high weight this time was just under 180, I'm currently at 170 or so, and my goal is 120. I'm 5'3 by the way. I started "dieting" (which I have never really done by the way), about a month ago. I started slim fast/low fat, but then due to my knowledge about my hypoglycemia, I knew I should cut way back on carbs... which brought me to Atkins!! I started my induction a few weeks ago, but didn't do it so well. I don't cheat, but I just wasnt eating very well. I basically survive on lunchmeat, cheese and pork rinds. Oh, and some veggies here and there. So I bought the book yesterday, and I am starting induction over. I can use all the support and advice y'all can give. Oh, I joined curves, so I am excersising regularly, and am going to start walking/running more, and I want a video too. Okay, I will shush it now.

      Welcome! Glad you're here!

BTW...Your description of your weight problems sound just like mine. I always thought I was fat in high school but really I wasn't. had babies, gained weight, lost some weight, quit smoking, gained a ton of weight. Started back to smoking. lost some weight. blah blah blah.

I seen the 200 mark twice in my life and I never want to ever go back there. I'm fairly new to atkins too and I've quit smoking again. I don't know how much I weigh at this point because I'm scared to stand on the scale and look. hahaha. I'm going to do it on Christmas Eve. Hopefully the wooshie fairy has visited me.
