    Hello,

I am a bride to be on September 3, 2006 and I really need some type of advice from other people as to what I can do to help myself lose weight. I am 26 years of age, 234lbs and only 5'1. I would like to lose at least 20lbs beforemy big day and I really need help getting there. I have never been big growing up but after having a miscarriage not to long ago, I have not been eager to lose the weight. Can someone please help this bride 2 Be before my time comes to walk down the aisle. I need all of the encouragement that I can get and what better place to find comfort and encouragement from than here.

    Please help.

Welcome to . You can easily lose 20 lbs by Sept, and probably a lot more. Have a look at my signature - I started on 10 September and have lost 23 kgs (50 lbs) already.

Have you read Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution? It is ESSENTIAL to get a copy and read it through. It will give you all the food lists and lots of success stories and incentives. The Induction is a stiff test but it is only 14 days, and although the food choices are a bit restricted, you can eat plenty of them and will not be hungry.

I joined the gym on the 1st November and am working lots of exercise into my day (45 mins hard work every morning and extras on that whenever possible). But to begin with I just had an old air-walker machine at home, and could only manage 5 mins at a time on it before I was puffing and blowing.

You'll find lots of support here and we will all help you to be gorgeous for your wedding. Read the book and start today!

          Re: Bride2beonSept3

          WELCOME TO !!

I am sure you will make a beautiful bride! Atkins works best as a permanent lifestyle change, though, so make the commitment and stick to it even after the wedding is long past! You'll never regret it.

Read the book, DEFINITELY. And follow the plan as written. Stay away from processed foods of ALL KINDS, drink lots of water, avoid caffeine and nutrasweet, and take your vitamins!

          Success will be yours!

                Hey there Bride2be!

Some good suggestions by other so far!

                • Buy the Dr Atkins Book (One with his piccie on front) read the bugger start to finish - use it as a bible!
                • Get you head around the concept of a Way of Life (this is hard for everyone) because once you go back from any change you will regain the weight!
                • Visit this forum for support!
                • Drink lots of water!
                Good Luck!
