Hello everyone! It's that time of the year again and I am looking to shed a few, well maybe more than a few, pounds. I am still young, only 15, and I don't want to be overweight for the rest of my life. I want to take a stand now and fight this monster. I have tried the Atkins diet before, it worked but I wasn't serious enough with the diet. This time around I'm ready and willing to do anything it takes to lose the weight. I am 5'10 and 182 lbs. I am looking to lose lose 32 pounds to get to a healthy 150 lbs for my height.

Re: Here we go again!
welcome to ADBB
at 15 we will strongly advise you to talk with your doctor while you do your Atkins because you aren't fully developed yet and have special nutritional needs.
SO what you doing for the exercise part of your Atkins?

Hi Emerica! and welcome to ADBB!
If you're interested in journaling, head down to the Miscellaneous Forum and look for Journal Chat and start a journal, there's some great support there!
Lot's of new exercise challenges are starting up now too!
Oh and Bootcamp is starting on the 16th...check out the Main Forum and look for the Bootcamp Question and Answers, it's a great way to start and to learn how to do Atkins properly!
See you around the board!

Re: Here we go again!
Bless you for having the wherewithall to deal with your health so early in life! You are wise. I so regret sometimes that I wasted 20 years feeling lousy about myself and my body as well as not feeling good physically because of the weight. Talk with your Dr. and make a reasonable plan for you to follow for someone still in the development stages. My best piece of advice for you would be this....learn to love exercise! It is an asset you must build into your life. You cannot beat this "weight monster" over the long haul without making it part of your daily routine...FOR LIFE! I tell myself that exercise is like brushing my teeth...I wouldn't go without brushing for a day, so it is with my exercise!
Blessings and welcome!
