  • Hello ADBB!

I have been watching in the wings for awhile now. Today is the day, I de-lurk, hehe.

It has been about 7 years or so since the last time I was on Atkins. My best friend and I had great success supporting each other. We both dropped several sizes. I wasn't prepared for an emotional tragedy. So here I am now ready to try again. I have been reading alot of the 'articles' posted here about the emotions that go along with weight and using food as a reward or comfort. I have alot of work to do on the inside to help with the work I will be doing on the outside.

With that said.....Hi everybody, its a pleasure to meet you all!

          Re: Hello ADBB!

Thank you for the welcome. Today was day 2 for me. Yesterday i felt the headache of induction coming. I did not expect it the first day. Showed me just how reliant I was on sugars to get me thru a day. I took tylenol as soon as I felt it. Kept it down to a low rumble, heh. I had totally forgotten about brain fogginess. Today while I was doing payroll I kept thinking to myself, 'what is going on'. Then it hit me. So here is a little whine to go with my cheese.

              Hi Dot!

              Dorothy is my grandmother's name!
              Welcome back to Atkins!

Yes, a personal tragedy.. this is something that all these Low Fat gurus never talk about - dealing with life.
If you have to maintain your weight by starvation and heaps of exercise - then prepare for a regain with life 'slaps you up side the head!'
This is what all the Diet gurus (who were always slim) don't understand because they have never gone through it!

Atkins is a lot easier to sustain if you keep 'the importance of maintenance' in your mind. We must remember that our loved ones would not want us to be unhealthy, so me must be vigilant in the face of these things.

Very easy for me to say, very hard for me to do.

Great to see you back into it!
