Hi my name is Brianna.. I joined today out of desperation (sigh) When I married my hubby 3 years ago i weighd 235 which was very over weight anyway for me but after bouts of depression after losing my mum I have soared to a whopping 291!!! I started Atkins again on Jan 1st and have lost 6 lbs. Also started excersizing today did 45 mins on the bike ..Hopefully this will work my down fall to reality came when I had to use an invalid cycle in a store shopping with my daughter I have never felt so fat ugly and nasty..I am hoping I can stick to it this time.

Re: Waves hello
Welcome Brianna! You have come to the right place for help and support to keep you on track, though you have to want it bad enough. I hope you have the Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book from 2002 (I believe that is the correct year) and read it. It provides so much information that will be invaluable to you along the way. It will show you that this is a way of eating for the rest of your life and not just until you hit goal. It will teach you how to know what your body needs and how to get to where you want to be and stay there.
Exercising is a great way to make yourself feel better, just keep it up and before you know it, you won't know how you ever did without it. I'm so glad you started moving so soon, and you should be very proud of yourself.
Hang in there, the first few days are the worst, you need to not give up, eventually on induction the cravings will lessen and you will have more energy. You're worth it, tell yourself that and that you will do it every day, and take it one day at a time.
MY COMMITMENT 9/11/06

Re: Waves hello
YES !! Brianna, you have certainly come to the right place!! If you need help with ANYTHING, just post it and there's always gonna be someone that can help you with it!! (there's a gazillion people on here, at least!) And some of them even know what they are talking about!!
Check out the before & after section - it's very inspiring!!
another piece of advice that I got (which was GREAT) is that you shouldn't weigh yourself too often... the scales are liars and won't always tell you what you want to hear. Take your measurements now, when you are first getting started - and in a couple of weeks -take them again - if you stick to the plan, you are almost assured a smaller measurement. Even if the scales aren't moving, chances are the tape measure is...
oh yeah, DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!
Okay... that said, good luck to you! We are here to help!!
