Hi My name is Laurie and I am on Day 2 of the 1st Phase.I got to admit I was pretty hungry yesterday and I had a headache but I believe that was a "I had no Coke Yesterday headache"...lol...anyways I am so sick of being tired and having aches and pains all the time not to mention I can not wear the clothes I would love to be able to wear.So here I am posting my starting weight here on this message board.I weighed in yesterday at 265 lbs.If anyone has anytips or advice for me I would love to hear them just so that I stay motivated.I dont have a goal weight as of yet I just want to feel and look better. Also I would love to lose a considerable and noticable amount of weight before I go back home to Mississippi. My family was devastated my Hurricane Katrina and has been through a lot and I know I can make them a little happier if I was tro start losing some of this weight. My Mom had the same weight problems and ended up having Gastric Bypass and has done wonderful. Thanks for listening everyone and it is good to hear everyones stories and before and after pictures.I hope to be able to post a before and after picture some day as well.

Re: Day 2
Hello and welcome to the board! There is so much support and advice here. Look around all the threads and that in itself will help to motivate you. Anytime I think I want to have the forbidden foods, I come here and look at everyone's pictures and that right there stops me. I want to do what they're all doing. Congratulations on making it to day 2. It should get easier from here.

Re: Day 2
Hi Laurie,
I just wanted to wish you luck and commiserate with you on the struggles you have gone through following the hurricane. I too lost my home in Long Beach, MS due to the storm. Stress from this caused me to eat and eat and gain a lot of weight over a short period of time. I know you'll succeed with this way of eating and be skinny by the time you return to MS! If you ever want to chat about anything let me know!

The advise I'd give you is read the book (and again), drink you water (lot's), exercise and get as much support as you want and need her on the board.
There is a huge amount of experience, support and information here!

Re: Day 2
My heart goes out to you all that have lost so much in Hurricane Katrina. I spent 13 weeks on the MS Gulf Coast with the Red Cross in mobile feeding units.. believe me, that food was not Atkins friendly, and I came home with a LOT of weight to lose..
I spent most of my time in the Ocean Springs area, but our kitchen served the whole MS gulf coast all the way to Moss Point (we were based in Biloxi/Gulfport area)
Hugs!
