Hello fellow atkineers!! Just wanted to post my story on here, and try to be brief about it if i can. I actually did it the first time about 4 years ago and lost 60 pounds, going down to a weight of 190. I played college baseball and then got out of college, got married and had 2 beautiful little boys. Then 4 years later and 75 pounds heavier, i recieved the family medical problems of Diabetes, and Hypertension. These alone are deadly, not to mention combined. I was type 2 diabetic, just taking pills, but couldnt control my sugar, seeing it get to a whopping 375 some days. I was confused and frustrated, and wanted to give up, but couldnt for my family and my beautiful little boys. I had gone from a college athlete in fantastic shape, to a overweight person that couldnt even control his own medical problems. Not to mention that my job as a Director of the Boys & Girls club is stressful enough, that makes it even worse. So, i decided to go back to the atkins way of living, and have been doing it now for about a month and half. Not only have i gone from 265lbs, to 238...but i now can not take any medicine for my blood sugar, as it makes my sugar go to low. I now have complete control of my diabetes and am working on my blood pressure now. I feel 100% better already, and have energy to do the simple things that were becoming difficult. My goal weight is 200, but id love to get to 190 or 180 again if i could. Currently, i dont have pictures, but will in the next couple days, so you can tell me if you see a difference. The best feeling is when you get compliments on how you look, and how much just 26 pounds made a difference. I have now gotten on this wonderful website for support, and motivation. I hope to get to know you guys as the time passes, and plan on shedding my weight to get where i want to be. COngratulations to you all, good luck, and wish me luck too!!
