  • Newbie here =)

Hi all! My name is Angie, I'm 24 years old with 3 children under 6 and have been on Atkins for 60-some days with a loss of 32 pounds so far. It would probably come off faster if I could QUIT drinking coffee! <yeah, like that is going to happen> But anyway, I've decided to join because eventhough I've read all the books, I think it's better to get/share advice with others that are going though the same thing. I've decided to stick with induction until I reach my goal weight - I don't know if that's the best thing to do, but I'm sure I'll find out =) Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself, I look forward to meeting all of you.

        Hi Angie,

Welcome to Congrats on your weight loss so far. Way to go I have been on Atkins since November of 2005. I am also doing Induction until I reach my goal also.

I can see I am not the only one who can not give up the coffee. I don't drink as much as I used too which was 6 cups a day. I am now down to two. That is a hard thing to give up. This would be me if I gave up my two cups of coffee. Sever Caffine withdrawels. lol

I am very proud of your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Welcome, glad you joined and maybe we can talk you out of doing induction until you hit goal.
I know you said you have read all the books, but Have you read the book. We use the Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution published in 2002 and since its so old you can often fine in in thrift shops and second hand book stores for nearly nutting.
The reason its important is it tells the best way to do this diet for optimum weight loss. He really new what he was talking about and if you look at the number of goalees that we have, to a one, they will tell you they used him as their guide.

Try making your coffee half decaff and half coffee. I am now down to just one half-and-half in the morning and decaff the rest of the day (total 4 in all a day). And I was a 12 cup a day coffee FIEND!

Here is the link for Douwe Egberts coffee in the US - I use their Moccona Decaffeinated Instant brand - it doesn't seem to be on the site for the US but there is some coffee for brewing that is decaff. http://www.douweegbertscoffeesystems...fee/Coffee.htm
