  • I've been on the induction for 14 days straight

Hi everyone!! This site is a blessing to say the least. My husband and I have been on the induction diet now 14 days straight without cheating at all..and he's only lost 8 pounds and myself 6. The last time I went on this I lost 45lbs in about 1 and a 1/2 months...so I'm very frustrated right now and trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.

My husband and I are from Washington state but for right now while he's in school, we're in Northeastern Oregon. I'm 54, almost 55 and my husband is 45. We are not very active people, mostly due to the fat that we wear. Not a good thing. I am only 5ft tall and I started dieting at 259 14days ago. Needless to say, this is the worst my weight has been at ever. My Husband has the same story.

So I'm hoping someone has a wonderful idea or knowledge to get us moving down that weight loosing slope.

Glad to be here.. Hopeing to make many new friends.

Congratulations on doing the 14 days of induction! You're doing really well with losing 6 pounds. Remember, those are 6 pounds that you will never ever see again in your life! And don't get discouraged because your hubby lost a bit more than you, I heard guys lose it just a bit faster, which isn't fair, but don't worry, you'll still look better than him once you're down to your goal weight. (Hee hee, us women are so sexy. Rawwr!)

Also, you should post your menu of what you eat each day in the Reveiw My Menu Forum, which can be found here.

Try to stay away from evil foods that contain aspartame, such as Sugarfree jello, even though it says zero carbs, the aspartame is what stalls your weight loss!! I hope I helped a bit? Maybe?

      Consistent, clean induction.
      Water.
Exercise (even if you are only walking, make it a daily habit and you will see results)
      Read the book.
      Support each other.

You might want to go down to Review My Menu and post what you eat. While I think that the second time around sometimes isn't as thinning as the first, you will lose !!!
Some times, the second time around, carbie things just get hidden into our foods.

Thank each of you!! you're all great. I think by not taking my thyroid it might be a reason why I'm not loosing as fast as I was before as well. And we've not been eating anything with aspertame but I think we've been eating too many nuts. We also have not been exercising. I love your pretty goal icons as well girls!!! Gorgeous!! Well I'm going to listen to each of you and I hope gain alot of knowledge from you as well. Bless each of you and keep on that down hill slope of loosing. How wonderful I remember feeling when I was thinner. I'm going to find out what that feels like again!!!

            Bless each of you.

Re: I've been on the induction for 14 days straight

Take your thyroid medicine!!!! It's bad that you don't. I have been neglecting it for a really long time and when my mom found out, she completely freaked out and I have been on it for about 4 months now, and I finally got a dosage that actually works for me, not against me. If you don't take the medicine for it, there are consequences that could lead you into a coma, even death, way way scary. (That's what happens when I research things on the internet on medical sites....o.O)

As for the nuts, lay off of them for now, they are what are killing you! ha ha. I am glad that you let us know what you did wrong, it's good to admit that because then you get to fix it! <33

And start excercising too. Walking around the neighborhood for half an hour or so each day, it totally helps and it gets you sweating. When you sweat, you lose a little bit of fat when you do this way of life correctly. I'm counting on you! I know you can do it! Muahz!! <33

Re: I've been on the induction for 14 days straight

Don't forget: men and women lose weight at different rates! Men can lose a lot faster than women even if you guys are eating the same and exercising the same way. I always considered going on a diet with my boyfriend at the same time a kiss of death because he would lose faster than me and I'd get really upset and frustrated. But if you know it's going to happen in advance, just be calm about it.

45 pounds in a month and a half sounds like you were retaining a lot of water weight, and it doesn't sound like a healthy weight at which to lose (am I wrong here guys?). Don't expect to lose 2 pounds a day every day, bodies just don't work like that.

Congrats on restarting. With the support of this forum, you're going to do great.

Congratulations and welcome to the ADBB. You are both doing great. I've found that losing the weight is a up/down thing. Take your measurements and you'll see how much you are shrinking. Our bodies retain water daily, so don't go by the scales alone. It only gets better and better!! Keep us posted on your progress.
