Hi everyone! May I just start by saying, that these forums have gotten me through the first two weeks on Atkins and I haven't even posted yet!
My name is Kristi and I am a 25 year old mother of two from Illinois. I have done atkins before and lost 40 pounds in about two months, but then discovered I was pregnant! Well, needless to say, I didn't continue losing, but did manage to limit sugar and carbs during pregnancy and came out only 3.5 pounds heavier than I started. So, here I am, 8 months post baby and ready to get serious and take control of my life. I have a 3 year old and then the 8 month old, and am a homemaker with a very fit and active husband. My main goal is to keep up with my family, and insure a longer life with them! When I am outside of my home, I am a Tae Kwon Do instructor (hence the tkd habidah which means teacher in Korean), and also want to lose the weight to improve my game as far as TKD goes. I teach my TKD students the important tenant of pilsung, this means victory in Korean. However, it is a little different than our version of the word. Victory in Korean means that you must first have victory over your self and conquer your own strengths and weaknesses before you can have victory over an opponant. Well, I still have 113 pounds of opponant left, and I chose to conquer. It's time to practice what I preach! I am a skinny woman trapped in a fat girls body!!!!!
So anyway, I am very motivated, and have a very all-or-nothing personality, so I never have a hard time sticking to it. My only downfall right now is that I am having a very hard time finding time to myself, and that makes it hard for excercise. I do make time for 1 hour of TKD drills and forms a day, which is toning more than anything, so I need to find an aerobic outlet, and would like to get into the habit of a 45 minute 3 mile walking tape I have. I have been on atkins for 15 days and am down by 10.5 pounds so far. I do actually have issues remembering to eat and this sometimes slows me down. . .
Okay, enough babbling. . .I'm so excited about the coming months, and can't wait to get to know and support the friends I am sure to make on these boards. Now, to find something for breakfast. . .
