    Hi all i'm new here and have some questions about dieting.

    I have been on diets so many times these past few years, one time I lost 10kg (don't know why I stoped.) I was young, so it was probably the commitment. I’m 16 now and really want to loose weight.

    I have been on a diet for only the past few days, my mums worried that I tackled into it to fast. Yesterday I burned off 800 Calories and had to take muscle relaxes just to fall asleep. But I guess it’s because I haven’t used those muscles in such a long time?

    My first question is about Carbs (in grams). How many carbs should you consume daily while on a diet?

    My second question is about calories, how many calories = 1kg?

    I read that 37000Kj = 1Kg and that 9 Calories = 1Kj. There’s no way this is true.

    Hi Garilla I am stoping just to say Hi , I am only three dasy older than you on the board, I can't beleve how nice everyone is ..I know we will both love it here , I can't help with any questions yet but I'll bet in a few months we will be PRO'S ! See you on the boards

      I just wanted to take timeout to welcome you, and congratulate you on a very sound, positive choice you've made by one, joining this board, and two, adopting this WOE (Way of Eating).

      My name is Mike, and I am a Boot Camp recruit currently on Day Ten of induction. I STRONGLY recommend you go out for Boot Camp when the next one comes around (Should be in a few weeks).         Hello and welcome! When you first start Atkins, you should have no more than 20 grams of carbs, but...they should be specific carbs. Dr. Atkins said that we shouldn't count calories. Take a look around the forum and read all the stickies on the main Atkins board. There is tons of info there for you. I also recommend you pick up the book.
