Re: New to Atkins as well as forum
I just restarted 7 days ago after a failed false start the first of the month. My experience is if you can make it through those first 2-3 of feeling crappy while your body readjusts, you'll be fine. Once you past that, energy like you haven't seen in a while will kick in!
Most of all DRINK ALL YOUR WATER every day. Lots of benefits from that. I personally was having some various joint pain the last few months, which is all gone now. I directly attribute that to my body being in a constant state of dehydration, since before Atkins the only time water ever touched my mouth was when I brushed my teeth.
It will make you pee A LOT, but you get two benefits from that. 1) your peeing out all those toxins and fat being burned and 2) your getting some added excercise from all those trips to the bathroom which in turns helps with the weight loss.
So that is my biggest suggestion! Get all your water and more if you can EVERY DAY!
Just as a side note, my mother who is a diabetic was extremely worried about my blood sugar level since I hadn't had any sugar intake in so long, so I let her test me with her machine. She looked at it, then looked at her little book and had this really shocked look on her face and said, "Thanks perfect! I can't believe it!"

Re: New to Atkins as well as forum
Welcome! The best advice that I can pass on is to read the book, commonly known as DANDR around here, don't cheat (it's not worth it, and it just sucks the wind out of your sails), drink plento of water, and get moving! Even if it's a couple brisk 15 minute walks a day to start out. Oh, and the induction food list on my fridge, it's handy and helpful!
The support you will find on here will blow you away!
As a new mommy, also, I have one more suggestion. Always make extra meat from your suppers, it comes in handy the next day. Also, have atkins friendly snacks waiting in the fridge, this saves time, and helps out in the willpower dept. when you're tempted to stray!
Good luck, we're all rooting for you!

Re: New to Atkins as well as forum
Welcome. A couple of suggestions:
1. Keep a journal. Having to write down each day what goies in your moth makes you think about it and more aware. You can enter your exercise too.
2. Plan ahead. If you are going out, make sure you have some legal food or snacks with you. One of those chiller lunch bags is good and you can put an ice brick in it.
3. I find lots of fresh foods best, but I realise with a little one it may be harder. Still, try to avoid too much pre-packaged stuff so you can monitor what goes in!
Good luck!Odille

Re: New to Atkins as well as forum
Hi, congrats on the new baby! I do find that I am peeing a lot more which is good bc you know the bad stuff is being flushed out. Also, don't forget you can have seafood too. I think that is a good swicher upper from all the meat! You go girl! You can do it.
