    hi i am new to the site,i have been wanting to do the low carb but not sure how it works,so i started looking and found this site. seem to be a very informative site,and i am glad i found it.

    this is a great site !! i'm starting over and am an atkins pro.. lol!!! i did lose 40 lbs in six weeks after giving birth ,but another baby reversed all that.. but on monday that all changes.. low carb is great! you never have to be hungry, you don't count fat grams or calories.. no starving!! imagine that ! oh, and the best part....you can eat real butter..........yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

      Hi kellie and welcome to and to Atkins.

      My first suggestion is to pick up the book, Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 version...and read read read. Until then, read all of the stickies and FAQs in the Main and Atkins Phases sections of the forums, especially the 14 Day Induction forum, since you're just starting out.

                Congratulations on your decision to get healthy the Atkins way!
                If you are prone to want sweets, the best advice I can give you is to be strong and NOT CHEAT! It is hard for a couple of days, but if you do it, the cravings do go away and the diet is (for the most part) smooth sailing - at least for a cookie and cake junkie like me!

                    Hi, welcome to the ADBB. This is the best place to get the support, inspiration and motivation to help you lose unwanted weight and get healthy.

                    I definitely recommend you read the book. Then, start a journal so you can record your measurements...feelings...foods...and success. (This is definitely good for times when you need to re-affirm your committment to yourself and why you want to lose the weight)

                    Check out the ADBB and all the fantastic forums we have for support. There are many on health and life issues that you will relate to, informaton, motivation (Loser's Lounge and Success Stories), before/after photos, challenges and much more!! Don't look at this as a dreaded diet, instead look at it as an adventure with new friends who want to see you succeed. You can do it. We are all here helping each other to achieve our goals.
