    My name is Peggy and last June I weighed 202, the highest ever for me and I knew I had to do something. My daughter got me on the Atkins and I knew it was the answer for me! I had lost 53 lbs, but put some back on in the past month when I slipped in and out of the Atkins. I want to get back in there and reach my goal weight of 125, so still have a way to go, but I have felt discouraged lately and was so excited when I saw this site online. You have all inspired me to get back on track. I have some family members criticizing me for being on this and telling me how bad it is for me. Do they not see what it has done for me? Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you and ask for help when I need it! I have Osteoarthritis which has improved so dramatically with the weight loss to date. I also have Hashimotos disease and hormonal issues I am trying to deal with. It's been a rough road, but I know I will suceed!

    Welcome to !!!! This is a great place, and you are on a great program! Stick around and you will succeed in reaching your goals. Don't let others bring you down, this is a very good WOL. You can do it, and you'll be healthier for it.

    Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.

      Hi Peggy and welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins!

      You've had some great success already, congrats! And you'll find a lot of great people to motivate you, the experience and support is awesome.

      You might want to check out the Second Time Around Club in the Support section of the board, you'll love it!

        Welcome Peggy. Congratulations on the weight you lost the first time around and for re-committing to get healthy and lose weight. Yes, we've all heard the negative comments from people. I don't know what food item they are referring to as being so bad for us? Do they not eat veggies, meats and salads?

        This is the best place to come for encouragment, motivation and information on doing the program and getting healthy. The people in the ADBB are the best for lending support and friendship. Best wishes to you. If you haven't read the book, please get the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002. The knowledge in the book, supplements, water and exercise are the ingredients for a new and improved life.

          this is a picture of me at 161lb i now weigh 159lb im starting atkins tomorrow id like to weigh 130lb for my final goal, i was wondering all the sausage, bacon etc does it have to be fresh from the counter because i read on a packet of sausages 1 ssg was 8.4g carbs! but i only have like 20-30lb a week to spend on shopping

            Hi Peggy! Congrats on your determenation to improve your health. I'm glad to hear at least you have your daughter's support in all of this. Hopefully the rest of the family will come around when they see how much better you are doing. Just think of this board as your extended family whenever you need a boost!

              Hi Rick, Thanks so much for your encouragement! I am really determined this time to reach my goal and know that I can now read about people that struggle with the same issues I have. Thanks again so much and congratulations to you also. I am not very good at doing things online, so hopefully I will be able to keep up with things correctly on here. I am trying to find some pics that I can post and would like to have the chart on the bottom as you all have that shows your sw, your weight now and your goal weight.

                  Hello and thank you so much for your welcome. First of all let me tell you congratulations, you have done so incredible!!!! Wow! As far as negative comments I have been told that I will get kidney problems, that I will have severe definciencies in vitamins, that I will put it back on twofold. I was starting to believe them. I guess it just took seeing others such as yourself to remind me that they did not have a clue and were the diet sabatogers that we hear about. I can't even begin to list the positives from losing what I have to date. I will just keep focused with the help of all of you and put my life where it should be. Thanks again so much!
