  • New Kid on the Block

Looking forward to starting Atkins back up again. Just had my 3rd child 5 months ago and have been putting off dieting and exercising. Recently made plans to go on the Disney Cruise in June before husband deploys to Iraq and would like to go looking and feeling good. I know the diet works, I did it before getting married 5 years ago and was down to a size 4. Unfortunately, I'm back up to a 14/16 and have a long road ahead. Hearing some say that they were able to drop 50+ in 5 months has totally motivated me and I'm so interested in hearing suggestions on how to accomplish that for myself! That would be about right for me... 50+ lbs before the cruise in June. Love to hear any secrets anyone has!
    Thanks!

Hi 3x, and welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins.

I totally agree with Becky, there's no guarantee, but if you follow the plan, exercise, drink lots of water...come here for support! Then you'll be on your way!

Hope to see you around the board!

Yes, 50lbs + in 5 months is possible, I've done it. BUT, I had 150 to lose in total. That said, here are some tips.
        1. Read the book! It is most important to understand HOW it works before you start or you will 'shoot yourself in the foot' over and over!
        2. Keep a jounal. It can be electronic or papaer, but I have found physically writing in my special diary each and every day makes me think more about what I am doing. I record food, exercise and general moods and influences (and TOM).
        3. Eat natural foods. I do not buy prepared stuff at all. I cook everything from scratch. Breakfast is a combination of bacon, minute steaks, eggs, cheese, mushrooms in whatever mix I feel like. Lunch if meat/chicken/fish or cheese and a big salad. Dinner is similar but usually stir fried veges instead of salad. Now I'm not on Induction any longer I have nuts (emergency pack in purse, eat about twice a month) and occassional dessert of berries and cream.

Good luck! You will look beautiful for your cruise.
