  • It's been 9 days!!!!!

    I'm new to this, however reading all the post seem to be really motivating and think it's going to help me along my journey.
    Well where to start......I'm 25 yrs, SW/193, CW187, height 5'7, female.
    It's alot harder than I thought it would be. My goal is to weigh 160, which is about another 25 pounds in 8 weeks. I'm not sure this is possible, but i would love to hear on opinions to keep my focus. I haven't started working out yet, but after my 2 weeks i'm going to start 3 times a week.
    I'm going on vacation so this is really important plus have a wedding to be in July. So I don't want to be that whale on the beach, or the fat girl in the wedding.
    I need help and your motivation.

      Hello Glad to have you here!!! This is a great place for support and motivation. Yes you should not cross post in the future, people will come by and see your post if you just post in one place and it helps not clutter the board which is quite active.

      How long have you been doing Atkins? What stage are you in induction or OWL? I think it is possible and I would at least strive for your goal and if you don't meet it totally by the date you will at least be a lot smaller and feeling great. I notice on Atkins I seem to lose size faster than on other diets...example on weight watchers at 150 I wore a much larger size than on Atkins at 150.

      The secret to meeting your goal in my opinion is not cheating, do not allow friends/family to convince you that just one bite won't hurt...it will, just do the plan by the book, try to eat lots of whole/real foods and plenty of water.

      When I started on Atkins I weighed 193...I didn't cheat and walked 2 miles 4 times a week and lost 40 pounds in 4 months...of course this is my journey and every one is different but I was really determined and dedicated, so it is possible

        Sorry I just noticed you said you have been doing ATkins 9 days in you thread title...193-187 6 pounds down so far and not even finished with your first 2 weeks that is a really good start !!!



        You also may try posting your menu in the Review My Menu thread if you would like us to reveiw it and see if there is anything you could do differently to help enhance you weight loss

          Welcome Sam. Looks like you are off to a good start. Don't worry about the number on the scale. When people look at you - they won't know if you have 10 or 20 more pounds to lose....they'll just notice the inches you've shed and the energetic and happier you. We all put too much emphasis on what number shows on the scale.

          Take your measurements and you'll be able to see the results every few weeks when you re-do them. This is what has kept me motivated throughout my jouney.

                I agree, I am a scale addict Only thing you have to remember is that it is fine to gain some days, muscle weights more then fat, if my scales are showing nothing I usually check the messuring tape...and there is my loss.
