    Hello Fellow atkins dieters!

My name is Karry Im 33 and Ive been on atkins for about 5 weeks now. Im doing an extended induction because Im anxious to lose the weight! I started @ 324 now Im down to between 299-302lbs Im kind of discouraged. I lost 16 lbs off the bat in 2 weeks! Now Im only losing a little at a time. I know I should be happy Im losing at all but its discouraging to get on the scale and see you've gained 2 lbs from the last time you stepped up ( about 2-3 days)
Why am I gaining instead of steadily losing? Ive been @ this 302 mark for 2 weeks now. It will jump down to 299 then two days later Im back @ 302 UGH! Ive not cheated once on this diet nor have I eaten anything new. Infact Im eating between 8-12 carbs a day. Does anyone have any advice for me? I realllllllly want to see below 300 and steadily stay below it. I bought some Metabosticks to test my urine to see if Im in ketosis and I am always in the bright or deep purple which means I am buring fat. My clothes feel better and I am losing inches.Im anxious for some results! so share please.

    good luck to everyone
    Karry

Weigh only once a week, in the morning after you do your morning business and before you get dressed for the day. Weight fluctuates during the day and I find the nekkid morning weigh in the best.

Dear Karry! Welcome to ADBB! I think you should take Kate's advice and weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you go to the toilet! That's what I do. The weight will be the lowest first thing in the morning and usually goes up a pound or more throughout the day, but the first thing in the morning will be the lowest. Use that weight as your "applicable" weight. Also, are you exercising? Hope you enjoy your stay here at ADBB!

          Karry,

caml down and relax, I think most of us stop loosing or even gain some pounds back after the 2 first weeks. I went up four pounds...and after a few days they were gone again and I started losing a bit again.
I give up going on the scale everyday, it makes me nervous and depressed if things arent going as fast as I wanted....and of course they arent.
Dont forget to exercise and drink water.

thank you all so much. I am excercising. I have a treadmill which I am using daily, it has a digital meter that tells me how many carbs I burn. Im sticking to between 20-25 carbs Im burning which is about 1.60- 2 miles each use. Im going to stay off the scale awhile and just allow my anxieties to slip away. I am excited to have people to talk about the diet to! Thank you all!!!!
