    Hello,

    I have been gaining weight for all of my 38 years. I am at the point where I am afraid for my health and life, so I am ready to try something different. Nice to meet everyone.

    Well good for you for finding this board! You'll get all the information, support and encouragement you want/need here. The Atkins way of eating really is awesome: You get to lose weight and get healthy.

    A few suggestions:

    Read the book (DANDR 2002 edition)
    Drink lots and lots of water
    Exercise as much as you can
    Keep carbs down

    These are just very general suggestions. The book explains everything, and the stickies do too.

    Good luck with your new way of eating. Looking forward to following your losses!

        Hello. Congratulations on making the decision to change your life. I spent 40 years yo-yo dieting before I got serious and realized I needed to change the way I lived and ate forever in order to be successful. I've learned that if you do Atkins the way Dr. Atkins suggested...it works.

        Read DANDR, it is essential. Eat only what is on the acceptable foods list for at least the first 14 days, drink water, exercise and take supplements. All of these things will make you feel great...and when you feel good about yourself, nothing can stop you!!

            Good luck!!! I ordered the book off Ebay for only 5 bucks!! Isn't that awsome, a new way of life for 5 bucks!!! Take care and you can do it!!!!
            What would we do without it?

              Hello, and welcome aboard! You've come to the right place for motivation and help. There is always someone around who can answer your questions. Just make sure you have the DANDR book around for reference too, I still refer to it, and I've been low carbin it for just over a year now! Looking forward to hearing about your successes.
