  • Running back to the Open Arms of Atkins

    If you will have me...

Hello. I lost about 20 lb. 2 years ago and felt great, but then the holidays came... Needless to say I gained it back and then some. Nothing new here, right? Anyway, after seeing my husband continue on Atkins and lose 65 lbs., I am running back to Atkins. This time, I have metabolic syndrome X and am on medication (Metformin/Niaspan). My Dr. wants me to lose 20 lbs. to see if there is an improvement. Atkins did lower my cholesterol the first time around, so I am hoping I can lose weight and go off meds. I did go back on Atkins a 2nd time but I didn't lose any weight. Do you think with the Metformin I will be able to lose weight this time? I feel like I'm running out of time! Thanks in advance for your advice.

Mini Goal: 20 lb., then we'll see from there...

Well I can't guarantee how the meds you are taking will affect Atkins, but I do know that Atkins is a very healthy way of eating, so what harm can it do?

    YOU CAN DO IT!
