    Hello there all! Im 18 and i live in Las Vegas, after taking a polaroid of myself for a psychology project, i noticed that i needed to do SOMETHING about this weight. My teacher does atkins, and has lost over 80 lbs so i thought, what the heck. A little about me, is that i dont have willpower...AT ALL. so im trying really hard to make this work My name is Ashlee feel free to message me whenever you please, im really looking for a support system or a atkins buddy Have a good day

    Welcome Ashlee. You've come to the right place. Do you have Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution - 2002 edition? If you don't, you should get it.

    Also, what will you be doing for the exercise portion of Atkins?

      Um, well ive just started doing "Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease" I know that sounds so wierd, but its the only exercise video that keeps my attention so...lol, im also starting some pilates classes, i can't do vigorous exercise because i have hemophilia, and im very breakable . Im also beginning to walk, its very hard to do in my neighborhood because everyone is on heightened alert after a teenage boy is missing. So im doing about 45ish mins every other night. I HAD the 2002 book until one of my aunts stole it, (shes not even doing it.) So i suppose i shall buy another, im pretty familiar with it though, because i used to cook for my dad, i just would like some of the recipes as i am getting so bored with blah chicken, and blah blah blah.

        Hi Ashlee and welcome to ADBB & Atkins!

        Okay, yes either steal the book back or pick up a new one! Good for you on getting your exercise routine going, the DVD and the walking are great! Striptease, whoohoo!

        Explore the board! There are a lot of great forums, like the 14 Day Induction forum that you'd probably be interested in checking out ... people will be in the same phase of Atkins as you are now!

          Welcome, and good luck!! You can do it!! That Carmen Electra thing sounds fun!! Maybe when I lose a few more pounds I will check it out. Silly isn't it?? I need to lose more weight before I try a new exercise! I love the elipitical, I can watch my soaps and exercise at the same time!!! You can get the book on Ebay if you like Ebay (I got mine for 5 bucks).
          What would we do without it?

                Welcome Ashlee,

                Let me just say that I think this is not about will power.I dont know anyone strong enough to avoid choclate for months out of will power.
                It is a decision you make about your life. You choose, "do I really want the chocolate or do I prefer to go on with the program? do I go for the chips or for the bottle of water?"
                I always felt like something sweet around 4 pm, to avoid that I go for the treadmill for an hour.
                Dont start the program just to give it a try. Be positive about yourself and decide!
                You can do it!!

                  WELCOME. We've all tried to lose weight before and maybe failed. Why? Because we didn't have the motivation, support and encouagment of the ADBB. This site is full of people who are willing to help you succeed and gain self confidence about yourself and your life.

                  Read Dr. Atkins book - Drink water - Take your supplements - and EXERCISE. You'll be amazed at the fantastic results when you start losing inches and weight. As you lose the weight, you'll become more cofident and you won't have ever worry about will-power. You'll have so much energy and look and feel great!!

                        Welcome Ashlee! I love the Carmen Electra video's as well! I found that after induction the cravings are less and it's easier to find the willpower, especially when you see the weight coming off as well. Feel free to msg me anytime if your looking for a buddy.
