  • can i do this again?

last night when i checked my email, there it was -- an invitation.
i wandered back only to see that the last time i posted was 2 years ago -- january 2004.
i see a few familiar names, ones that have met their goals, and i feel a little bit hopeful, but also scared. every time i fail i feel less like i can ever make this happen.
i joined TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) last year but it was a very small group and everybody had so many personal problems we decided to disband for the time being.
i did manage to lose over that year, but i was never on any plan.
i absolutely know that sugar is like poison in my body and if i can drive that demon out of my life i will be so much better off.
i am a bit intimidated by some of the new technical looking stuff. i hate looking and sounding like an idiot but i don't want something like that to keep me from starting back with you guys.

    cheers. ro
yes i guess i would appreciate a virtual hug.
guess i'll go take a look at my old address at fitday, i really liked that place!

This place is very friendly still so no worries! And, as for technical, you just grab your DANDR, read it and jump right in, ask all the questions you want, and start a journal. You have time to read what interests you and pass by what doesn't here. Don't feel intimidated please, so many people here just love to help! We will always welcome you warmly with a hug!

thanks jasmain. i know exactly where i left it (a miracle in itself).
what i'm talking about is all you creative people with all the visual stuff under your signature. how do you learn about all that? i know it sounds trivial but i want to look 'cool' too!

Re: can i do this again?

Ahhh, okay. All right. Well, my photos, for instance, I have at www.flickr.com. The site gives me an address for the picture itself. If you edit your siggy, you click on the little yellow mountain picture above the text screen (where i'm typing right now) and paste the address of the picture into the box that pops up. When you click okay, it will show the picture in your signature if you preview it (it will put the picture or the correct format text in the text screen). You can hit preview and see if it worked. Once you get the hang of doing that, everything is a bit easier to understand. If you'd like to email me a picture for me to put in the gallery here, I can send you what you need to paste into your signature to put it in without having to go through all that. Send me the picture and I can pm you what goes in your siggy to add the photo.

          (((((((((((((((((((((SUZY))))))))))))))))))))))))

There now .. that better? Hon, none of us, including those of us at goal will EVER be cured of carbohydrate addiction. WE ARE ALL REFORMED CARBOHOLICS, who choose, one day at a time, to eat the foods that are healthy and nutritious for our bodies instead of stuffing ourselves full of garbage and then wondering why we feel so bad!

You have come to the RIGHT PLACE for support, encouragement and help. You should feel VERY HOPEFUL and optimistic. You're taking charge of your health and that is soooooooooooo empowering!! GOOD FOR YOU!

i feel a little bit hopeful, but also scared. every time i fail i feel less like i can ever make this happen.
You will not fail; failure is NOT an option for you. Read DANDR; clean out your cupboards, get rid of all the junk ... TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE BEST OF YOUR LIFE!

          YOU CAN DO IT!

Re: can i do this again?

We all share the same fears, anxieties and dreams when it comes to improving our lives and our health. Its been a struggle all my life and still is. The difference is that this site has given me friends to walk the path with. Friends to talk to that understand my emotions. It is a much easier road to follow if you are with people who are doing it with you.
