  • Another New Guy

    Hello everyone,
Nice place you have here. I have started the induction phase.
I am currently at 275 with a 42" waist. I have tried other diets and I can't seem to lose more then 5# before I gain the weight back and then some. I have seen alot of succes stories and I want to be one of them.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your community.

Hello and welcome. You've definitely come to the right place. You'll receive a lot of information, inspiration and support from everyone here.

I've never been successful before in my attempts because I felt sorry for myself for going on a diet. This time around, I'm having fun and enjoying the friendship and encouragment of the great people here.

You can do this! Read the book, take supplements, drink water and exercise. I can't wait to read about your success in your future posts!!
      Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Hi Greg and welcome! i was like you too, could not stick to any other diet for the life of me. I'd usually cheat before the first day was through! The great thing about atkins is it takes away your cravings and you actually stop thinking about food all the time. In a few days you'll probably have to remind yourself to eat. Another bonus for you is since you're a guy you'll lose more weight easily than a woman would.
A few tips for success, stay away from the franken foods such as low carb chocolate, atkins shakes and bars. Make extra legal foods to have on hand, i can't say enough about bacon, it tastes great cold or hot, the crispy melty goodness, ummm, well anyway. Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing from time to time!

                    Welcome Greg
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
                    he said, 'Don't count calories.'
