  • Starting over - hopefully for the last time.

Hi. I've never posted on a bulletin board like this before, but I'm excited about having a support system as I make another attempt at Atkins success.

I'm not new to Atkins, but I've fallen "off the wagon" too many times to count. I had lost 55 pounds before becoming pregnant with my daughter in 2004. I gained 70 pounds with the pregnancy and haven't been able to shed the bulk of the weight. I'm currently at my heaviest weight and feel physically and emotionally defeated.

I'm so tired of being the fattest person in just about any situation I'm in -- fattest of my friends, my siblings, my co-workers, etc. I'm just tired of being fat period.

So, here we go again. I'm going to be starting Induction tomorrow and God help me I'll get through it this time!

Re: Starting over - hopefully for the last time.

Joss I know how you feel! I too lost over 60 lbs on Atkins and then fell off the wagon and gained alot of it back. I don't even like to think about it.

I know it works - no doubt about it. I think my problem was going back to old habits. At first I thought it would be ok - I would get back on in a few days - well a few days went into months. And look at me now.

I restarted yesterday. It' sbeen hard - but not as hard as I thought.

I too am so tired of being the biggest person in the room. It just seem so unfair sometimes when I look around and everyone else is just like the "perfect" size and there I am the goodyear blimp!!!

I think these feelings are what will get up going and keep up going until we too reach our ideal weight.

Don't feel bad - everyone messes up sometimes. The most important thing is that your getting back and it won't be long before some of the weight comes off and you won't feel like the biggest person anymore.

                    Best of luck

                    Pamela
