  • Hello from NY

    HI!

My name is Stephanie and I am so excited to actually be back and on my way. I did Atkins successfully 4 years ago...but fell off about 2 years ago. A lot of stress in my life including a divorce...which I know is NOT an excuse, but I used and abused it.

I am now happy again with a wonderful guy and I want to be back to that gorgeous 115 lb chick again!!! I know I can do it with your help. I am 5'2" tall and I weigh 150lbs, it looks disgusting! My brothers wedding is the first of April (I know, who gets married on April Fools DAY????) I figure if I start induction today, by the time the wedding comes along I should have lost 10 - 12 lbs and that dress I bought will fit much better. I just wouldn't buy the 14!!

My goal is 115, but will be quite happy in the 118 to 122 range. , right now I'd settle for anything under 140!

I have been going to the gym since november, 3 times a week, and if I happen to skip it or have something come up, I do Iron Yoga. I have been taking HOODIA and low fat dieting, with no...and I mean NO results. Atkins worked so well for me before, I don't know why I even thought of trying something else.

    So, here's to DAY 1.

(To dial-up users, sorry, I tried and tried to reduce the image size, it just wouldnt' do it!! I know what it is like, I have a dial up too!)

    HEY! Whoever reduced my picture...THANKS!!!!

          Re: Hello from NY

thanks so much for your support!

Yes, 150 lbs on a 5'2" frame is a bit much, and I am glad you can relate. When I tell my friends, they say things like "geeze wish I was 150" or "its not that bad" but when I look in the mirror...holy cow!

I will be here daily posting and keeping up with you all.

I have had a great first day!!!! I am so psyched!!!

          Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, Welcome welcome welcome, despite the fact that you're making me a wee bit sick (I'd KILL to be 150, and I'm also 5'2"!!!!)

You're definitely in the right place, this board is a godsend, and I am constantly amazed with how friendly, helpful, supportive, and giving everyone seems to be. If you ever need anything, give me a PM!
Female / Currently on Extended Induction (again), begun 6/2/08.

I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!

                    Re: Hello from NY

Hello Lookingforward, Isabeau, Austlyn and Dotsamatha!

What great support, I can't wait to get moving. Geesh...only day 2!

Lookingforward, you have done a great job so far!! Don't ever give in!

I myself just couldn't let myself go any further. I know, 150 -- big deal, but did you know that 16 years ago, before having 3 kids, I was in the Army. It took me 8 times to try to get IN because I was so UNDERWEIGHT. They finally waivered me a pound to reach the minimum 98 lbs!!! SICK ISN'T IT??? I have been happy and thin until I hit 30 and then that cruel mother nature witch found me hiding in the forest trees of the Adirondacks and said AH HA! Okay....well, that is what I am blaming it on!!!

We'll all get there...one day at a time. Thanks for your help and support, and if you need me, I'll be here!!!
                    Stephanie

When I enlisted I was 17 and although I was never "thin", I lost weight so easily, that while in training my weight went from 140 to 120 and back to 130 from muscle gain within 5 months. I miss those days
