  • new girl!

Hello everyone! My name is Marla and i am new to this site and the atkins diet. I am currently 177 lbs. and would really like to be back to my pre-kids weight of 135. I have two children, Jaden is 2 and Kaylee is 2.5 months old. I gained so much with both of them. I was 196 lbs., before i had Kaylee and am down to 177, but that was mostly baby and all the other good stuff involved in that. LOL.

Today was my first day with no carbs and it was hard. I love breads and pastas but will do my best to stay away from them at least until i get to my goal. I always have exercised until i was pregnant, and that is how i gained all the weight i did. After my first daughter, i exercised like crazy and got back down to about 140, which was great. Then i went back up to about 148 and lingered there for a year until i got pregnant again. I have been back to exercising for the last 3 weeks now and not really getting much progress yet, so i decided to get on the no carb diet. I really cannot afford to get the Atkins book or join the website, but i am here to do what i can to lose the weight. Good luck to all!

If you want it to work, you just have to get the book! You can get it at this link for like 75 cents!

    http://product.half.ebay.com/Dr-Atki...foQQprZ2184253

You and I sound so much alike. I was 135 - 140 before my first and was 212 before I delivered my second son. My boys are 3 and 1/2 and almost 9 months. I started Atkins this time after I stopped breastfeeding and I was 179.5 then. So see? A lot in common!

I am sure you will do well. Read the stickies that are posted in the various forums until you can get your hands on the book. Eat your 20 carbs from the induction legal list and go from there. We are all cheering you on!!

        Cypress and Sunflowergrl:

Hello to you guys. Thanks for the great welcome and Cypress, thanks for that link to the cheap book. I ordered one of the ones that were 75 cents so hopefully it wont take long to get. We are alike, that is pretty cool. We are all pretty much in the same boat here!

How do you set up a signature. I am so lost when it comes to that stuff. Also, how did you make that page with your pics. That was cool and i would like to do one too! I really have not had too much time to zoom around this site, but will be doing more of that each day. So you said 20 carbs from the induction list. But isn't the induction list pretty much no carbs in those foods? Is there another induction list? I just saw one that was printable with the foods you can eat. Is that the only list? I guess the book will help with that.

        thanks again girls!

                    Re: new girl!

Hi and welcome. Remember, we do eat carbs on Atkins. Up to 20 of 'em on induction. Those three cups of veggies per day as per the rules of induction are important!

                      Re: new girl!

Thanks to everyone who has written to me and given me tips too! I am so overwhelmed with info it will take me forever to figure it all out, but i guess all i really need to know is the induction foods and lots of water and the 20 net carbs. Today is day two and so far i have done great. It is hard though. Especially when it is snacktime for the kids. LOL. I just keep picturing the way i used to look and that keeps me going. I did manage to get the book from Ebay. Cant wait till it gets here. I got an email saying it was shippped today.
