  • Hey, I'm new too :)

    Hi, I'm Yuna, I'm 28. I'm married, no kids yet. At the highest I weighed about 210. Now I weigh 190. I haven't gotten my books in the mail yet, but I'm starting by just cutting out soda and noodles for now - the obvious things. Today is my first day cuttting out those things.

    I don't look like someone who weighs 190, so I'm not sure what my target weight is. I'd be VERY happy to be 140, and I looked pretty nice as a size 10, around 150-160. I'd just like to be a size 8 again, or 6 if it feels healthy. Now I'm a size 14 (sometimes 16). I'm 5'7" btw. I've noticed my bone structure is quite small, maybe that's why I don't seem as heavy as I am. My license says 165 adn I'm stickin' to it! No one can tell it's not true...

    I especially want to thank SugarFreeSheila for her website, which a friend showed me. It's embarassing to admit, but I had the wrong idea about Atkin's until I saw Sheila's site 2 nights ago. Now I'm excited to get started!

    welcome aboard!!
    Look around and read all the stickies. Then read the book when it arrives and then start. Become familiar with all the terms and different stages.
    Their are some amazing people on here that have had great results, and they are always here to help.
    Another day, in a new weigh!!!

            Hi and welcome. You're gonna be amazed at how you shrink and how good you feel on this way of eating. We use the 2002 editon of the book around here.

                  I agree, Sugar-Free Sheila's site is inspirational! I'm really glad that you discovered that this Way of Eating is a good thing and not the evil monster you thought!

                  I agree with all the posters above, read the stickies and check out the recipes. There is a lot of fantastic information on this site.

                    Thank you everyone! I have shed a few pounds already by cutting way back to almost no sugar, and I've stopped eating bread and pasta altogether. I have been eating a meat portion and veggies; it's made a difference already! Anxiously waiting for my 2002 book to get here.

                    I am FINALLY past that stubborn 190 mark - it is awesome.
