Hello everyone, nice to met you all. Seeing is believing so that is why I have desided to do this diet. As much as it kills me because carbs are my downfall (chips, potatos, breads ect..)
My husband's ex was a large women also then about a year ago she started this diet and now she is a size 10. She is very much like myself so if she can get there so can I DARN IT!
Anyways... I'm going to be 35 in May, I have two children 8 and 6, this is my second marriage and a few months ago I quit my job of 8 yrs. (where I was very active for 6-8 hours per day) to move to another state for my Hubby's job and be a stay at home mom. I have always been big BUT
The SAHMA (Stay at home mothers association) did not contact me and warn me about the extra 50 pounds I would gain by doing this.
So about a week ago I decided to start working out, drink lots of water, and find a diet that I will stick too.
I joined the site because I am going to need all the support I can get, and I really don't know anyone here to talk to. So please don't hesitate to contact me either through here or email me on yahoo.

Thank you
Priscilla

Grrrrrr..... I still have to buy a scale. The only reason I know my weight now is because of the doctor's office and I'm not going there once a week :P

Re: Newbie here <-

I am so glad you found us! I lost my job in October of last year, and became a stay at home mom. I managed to pack on 19 pounds quicker than you would believe. I couldn't fit into any of my clothes, and I was so depressed! I was terrified of seeing anyone I used to work with, and I felt old and ugly. I finally decided to get off my getting fatter by the minute butt and find a diet I could live with. I googled the Atkins diet and found ADBB. That was early Feb., and on Valentine's Day I joined ADBB and as of TODAY I lost the 19 pounds I put on!!! This way of life works, and you can do it!! Trust me, if I can kick the carbs to the corner, so can you!! My whole diet was bread, candy, cookies, more cookies, and fast food!!! I could eat a whole pizza by my self, no problem. Last night my DH and kids had pizza, and I had fried turnips and green beans with turkey cutlets. Yummy!!!!
Please, keep us posted. If you need anything you can PM me anytime. Welcome!!
What would we do without it?

Hi there!

Welcome to the board!

I hear ya on the scale issue...I had a digital one and it started going all wacked out. Tossed that puppy out and ended up with an old standard dial thingy type. Anyways...

welcome!

Best wishes on your journey!
