Hi! I'm Trish and when I finally reach lifetime maintenence I know I'll do great because I have the maintaining part down pat! I've been maintaining the same weight for months. Unfortunately, it's not the weight I want...........

Seriously, Hi. I started Atkins almost 3 years ago (4/28 is my 3-year anniversary). I've lost (depending on the day) about 60 pounds. (I started at 247 and now fluxuate somewhere between 177 and 184.

Atkins is actually kinda easy for me because I LOVE proteins, LOVE green veggies and I'm not very impressed by (and so don't miss) pasta, rice, bread, potatoes and other starchy carbs. I worry that maybe I eat too much protein and not enough fats.. or something because this stall seems to be going on forever.

Anyway, I thouught maybe I needed the encouragement and support of a group (and, I'll admit, the feeling of accountability that comes with sharing stats) so here I am.

www.fitday.com will help you keep an eye on your ratios. Aim for 65% or better fats. This is not a protien diet - no matter what people say. It is a high fat way of eating (at least in the beginning). Fat is your friend!

        Welcome!!!

You came to the right place, I don't know if there's a friendlier bunch of people anywhere. Careful though, they'll give tough love when it's necessary, too.

I'm one of those who find Atkins to be easy, too. I've always been a huge carnivore and veggie eater, not much excitement for me in breads, pasta, rice, etc. The only thing I really and truly miss with agony is FRUIT. I could eat pounds of fruit a day pre-Atkins.

How long have you been stalled? If you want some ideas on what might be causing it, try posting your menus in the "Review my Menus" forum, and let the expert eyes pick them over and give you advice. Nothing has helped me more (except for Boot Camp, which I also highly recommend!)

If you ever need anything, feel free to PM me anytime.

I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!

Hi and welcome. Indeed, this is a high fat diet. Your protein intake will always be around 30% not matter what phase of Atkins you are on. Glad to have you with us.
