Hi...i have been on induction for 2 weeks now and I find that i am extremely tired and sleep 10 hours a night...like sound sleep. Will this go away?
I was researching the boards and I think maybe i need more carbs (right now i am getting my carbs from 3 cups of lettuce) ?/? will this help?

    Re: fatigue

Yes, you need more carbs!!! Lettuce has almost no nutritional value!! You must read the book. You need a balanced diet, and a good multi-vitamin. Do you drink at least 64 oz of water (I recommend 100oz). Can you post a days diet so we can see what you are eating? The most important part of this way of eating, is to be healthy not just lose weight. I am so glad you posted this question!

        Re: fatigue

        First of all, welcome aboard!

Secondly, I'm not sure you are eating enough! Certainly not enough veggies! Bring on the tomatoes, the broccoli, the cauliflower, the spaghetti squash, the, the, the, everything on the list! I notice that you say you will eat half a chicken breast (I think I read that right) - honey, eat the whole thing! This way of eating is NOT about starvation! There is a list of acceptable Induction food somewhere in the stickies - find it and make it your job to eat as much variety as possible. I also noticed that eggs were not on your menu. Can you eat eggs? They are a wonderful source of protein and very flexible as a food. Are you consuming any caffeine? Sometimes that would make me more tired than not! Also, don't forget about your supplements and exercise! Exercise is definitely non-negotiable!

Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your success!

        Big love,
        Stacy

Thanks Stacy - i appreciate it!

I think this weekend I will need to sit down and plan better menus. Hopefully I can figure out a way to make this work!

Do you have Dr.Atkins New Diet Revolution?? If not, PLEASE get it an read it!! This is not a 'diet', this is a healthy way of eating. You need more variety in your menu, or you will get too bored. Your body is hungry, feed it good food (as much as it takes to fill you up). Please go to the Induction forum and read the stickys.

              Re: fatigue

              Thanks everyone!

I do struggle with variety cause somewhere along the lines i got the idea in my head that some things are better than others. I think i need to sit down and do a better job at meal planning.

one day i will get this!

                Re: fatigue

Another good option is to look at the recipe boards. There are a lot of great Induction-friendly recipes out there. You could make a casserole or a quiche on Sunday and have food for the entire week, if you are short on time! Or roast a chicken, and vary the veggies from night to night. The possibilities are endless!!

Good luck, good eating and good cooking!
