  • Hello

    Hi,

I am new to the board. I must admit I have been lurking for a few weeks now, doing my research and gettting ready to take the plunge. Wow, I msut say I am so impressed with some of the recipes I have seen.

I am not one to treat this WOL WOE as a bus, but I did follow the WOE previously. 9 years ago to be exact!! I had post baby weight to lose, I was hugely sucessful with the plan. But, then I got into some trouble with food allergies and my way of eating changed dramatically.

After malnourishment and lots and lots of steroids later, I gianed twice as much weight. I tried a diet with my nutrionist and I did not do well.

So, here I am back to what worked originally, and hopefully allergies will stay in control and this will all work out for me.

        Re: Hello

oh gosh it started with an organic salad, all ingredients in the salad tested positive on skin testing other then the lettuce. My only food allergies had been seafood. Then in hospital they started me on clear liquids after 5 days no food, and I had a reaction to green jello. due to nutrition status startediron tabs and reaction. THese were all anaphylatic reactions requiring epinepherine. Then after days of no food and TPN started one food at a time. I still am testing postive for soy and legumes, so no ne of them, but I am gradually working other foods in to my diet. this is obvioulsy a fluke thing, but I need ot be careful. raw fruits are a big no no, and raw veggies are almost all back in my diet.

the prednisone has packed the pounds on though,a nd not able to take iron, I am hoping the diet will help with my nutrtional status.

It ended up being diagnosed as idopathic anaphylaxis. I am ready to start this again though, so wish me luck..

I am guessing it is not the new version... I will have to look, I believe I read the book in 1999 or so.... I will have to dig it out and read again or see the edition. But I have read his literature.

Sorry to hear about all your allergies! That must be a pain.

I was just reading Silly's journal and saw that you were having problems with your new doggie. I just wanted to wish you the best and that I hope everything turns out okay with no more problems. I know it must be tough.

It is just so hard, I had just put my nearly 13 yo lab Kimo down, and the puppy was our new dog, and this was just so fresh in my mind....
