Hello to everyone (and thank you to this website for its amazing tools and support)
I've actually been "behind the scenes" on the board for about three weeks now, but have never foramally intorduced myself. I have realized that I am ready for a "real start" with a clean induction, a formal introduction, and an actual copy of Dr. Atkins DANDR. My name is Elisabeth and I am a 5'3'' 250lb stay at home mom from Indianapolis who finds it easier to take care of others with inspiration and advice, yet always forgets to listen to myself.
I used the Atkins program as a "diet" over 5 years ago to lose over 100lbs, but never adapted the program as a "lifestyle" and only kept the lost weight off for about 2 years. Unfortunately after four pregnancys during the past three years (three of which failed due to being ectopic - and resulted in a ruptured fallopian tube and major surgery) I've lost a part of myself to myself and have found a discerning comfort in hiding behind these extra pounds .. UNTIL NOW! I joined this board hoping to find the support and encouragement to lose this weight, so that I can be both physically and emotionally healthy for my children and my husband, but most importantly for myself - and hopefully as a result, we will be able to successfully expand our family with at least one more baby.
I am looking forward to not only receiving support from ADBB, but to hopefully giving back support as well. Thank you to everyone!!
Elisabeth
