  • Back On Track After 2 Years

    Hello all!

I am a 23 year old female taking college courses full time in Cleveland, OH and working full time in Cleveland, OH. Yes, that's a very busy day!

I'm very excited to have found this site. I did Atkins for the first time 2 years ago and had tons of success, but slipped back into old habits unfortunately. I have extreme hypoglycemia and really a low carb, no sugar, high protein diet is the best thing I can do for my body. My doctor told me if I don't start doing something now, I'll end up with Diabetes by age 35. Very scary!

I am just ending on my 4th week of the diet, and I'm still on induction. I love eggs and just about every kind of meat imagineable so Atkins is perfect for me in a sense. My major struggle is eating salad everyday, and usually I end up avoiding lettuce and eating green peppers and mushrooms.

I lost 8 lbs in the first two weeks, and have been losing about 2 lbs each week since. I guess the main reason I looked up this site is because I was trying to figure out when I should start adding thiings in. I've been having sugar free jello every other day this week, and it hasn't seemed to influence my weight loss. I have been exercising 3-4 hours a week which is extremely rewarding and it also seems to jump start weight loss if I'm in a rut.

If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it!

    Thanks,

    Saty

    Best Wishes!

Wow! 11.5 pounds! That is something to be very proud of!

Regarding salad, I know what you mean. I find lettuce boring. How about a spinach salad? Do you like any other vegetables than green peppers and mushrooms? How about cauliflower? Tomatoes? Check the allowed foods list. I just recently rediscovered my love of green beans - of course with butter and garlic!! Are you drinking enough water? Exercising? All the basics?

You sound like your head and heart are in the right place! I wish you loads of luck! See you around the Boards!

Hi Saty111 and welcome to ADBB!

It is a great place for Atkineers, that's for sure. For moving on up the ladder, you might want to check out the Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) forum for tips, suggestions and motivation - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=38

There are a lot of great speciality forums too, have fun exploring and we'll see you around!
