New and Need some support

I just turned 35 years old on Sunday and the past year has been a terrible one. I have one daughter who just turned 2 and now I am in the process of ttc. However, I am desperately trying to get at my goal weight before I get pregnant again.

I suffered a miscarriage last year and for the life of me can not seem to lose this last ten lbs.

I dont have a lot to lose but I just need a good support system. I am starting induction today and I hope I can stick w/ it.

We live in New Orleans and my husband is in the Navy. So...w/ that being said I am sure you all can only imagine the chaos going on since the storm last year and the stress involved w/ another hurricane season coming up.

Well here I go rambling and this is my introduction...sorry for that.

Hi Tiffany! Welcome to the ADBB. You'll not find a better support system than here. We are all working together to get healthy and lose weight. You have a lot of stress going on in your life (as we all do from time to time) and I'm glad that you've made the decision to take time for yourself and change your WOE/WOL. I can tell you from experience that when you feel better mentally and physically...then you are able to deal with things that happen in a more positive way.

There are many subjects that are available for you in the ADBB. We have health, life and exercise issues, recipes, success stories (before/after...most memerable posts, Loser's Lounge) and challenges for exercising and staying with the program. You'll find lots of encouragment and friendships here. It helps to have people that understand and want you to succeed.

Thank you all for the welcome. So far I have done really good today w/ my induction. I plan on eating some baked chicken and veggies for dinner. Speaking of dinner, I am starving.

Hi! Just wanted to say welcome. I live in Slidell, right across Lake Pontchartrain from you and my hubby is a New Orleans fireman. Can feel for you about the hurricane, it totally unbalanced my eating and exercise habits. I also can relate about the miscarriages as I unfortanately suffered four before getting my youngest child who I call my blessing. Once again welcome. You have come to the right place for support.

I know where Slidell is. There are a few people my husband works with that live there.

I am so scared about this hurricane season....I just pray that God will spare us.

Tiffany...good luck on the program and with the weather this year! I am sorry to hear about your loss.

I had to laugh today cuz I remembered reading last night that you are 5'2" "tall" and my kids were playing with the measuring tape and my middle dd measured 5'1" and she is almost 10 years old. And my 15yo dd is just a bit taller than me at 5'11". We are all a bit tall here.

Hi Tiffany, I'm in Baton Rouge and my daughter lives on the west bank , River Road, past English Turn, so she is close to you. Welcome to ADBB, you will find wonderful support here. I'm at the end of my 2nd week and have found so much help, I know you will too.

I come from a line of short women. LOL I am actually taller than my mom and an inch shorter than my grandmother. The tallest women is my cousin and she is 5'6.


FeelinPeachy- we evacuated to Baton Rouge last year during Dennis. (did I spell that right?? Denis Dennis..lol)

I love Baton Rouge....very nice place. I love the mall there. I told my husband just the other day I wanted to go back to Baton Rouge just for a visit.
