  • I need advice

I'm new to atkins i've done it once before a couple of years ago but now when i started it i lost 8 pounds in 3 days which is whoo hoo but now i've seem to gone up about 2 pounds. I was wondering if it was from eating to many of the unlimited foods now i'm not saying i sit in gorge on meat all day but i do kinda eat the low carb candies which is 1.5 carbs on my induction which i had no problem before losing by eating those. Here is kind of what i eat in a day

    breakfast: sausage and egg

Lunch: ! piece of low carb bread with low carb peanut butter

Dinner steak broccoli and cheese green beans or salad

snacks beef jerky with cheese proably 3 a day and then low carb candy

So if anybody has any suggestions i would gladly appreciate it

    Re: I need advice

I think hte reason you're not seeing the results is because you should wait to eat the low carb bread, pb and candy bars until after induction..those come later. i made the same mistake the first time around and didn't see much progress. don't give up! just cut those out of the picture for now, you will be able to eat them soon. (i did the same thing with low carb ice cream bars which is a no no ) Good luck!

Welcome to ADBB. I would suggest you do a clean induction according to the book for 2 weeks and see how that goes before you get discouraged. -Gee talk about a run on sentence-lol

I hope you like it here we have a great place!

Make sure your reading the ingredients on all food labels and even any seasoning you use , I have found sugar in lots of seasonings and sausage things like that, I try to not eat anything that has been processed, and the breads even low carb are for later.
        hope this helps.Lisa

And more veggies! Eat more veggies! Limit your cheese to 3-4 ounces a day. NO FRANKENFOOD!!! No low carb bread, snacks, or candy. Follow the book and you will see the weight come off!!

Have you read the book? Dr Atkin's New Diet Revolution 2002 version outlines the diet very explicitly and will answer many of your questions. Are you in induction? Many of the foods you are not eating are inappropriate for induction. You should be eating off http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=3982 that list and NOTHING but that list; no candy, bread, NOTHING. Read the forum stickies to get a better understand of how and why things work the way they do.

              What killerbombshell said!

The menu you listed is NOT an Atkins induction menu.

You must read the book, or at the VERY least the rules of induction and acceptable foods list, but only to get you started until you have time to read the book.

              In a nutshell:
2 cups salad veggies required each day
1 cup "other" veggies required each day
up to 4 oz. full fat firm and soft cheeses, except for cottage cheese and farmer's cheese and whey cheeses which aren't allowed
              meat of any kind
drink only water, and lots of it
              exercise

No low carb bread. No peanut butter. Definitely no low carb candies, at least not on induction. And when you do allow them in your diet, make sure it's a very rare treat, not a common thing.

The book and boards will answer all your questions, also here's a searchable version of the book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0060...41#reader-page
If you search for the word "carbohydrate" you can read the entire book cover to cover online.

Another thing, I highly recommend boot camp for you the next time it rolls around, you'll learn the ins and outs from the experts and then you'll never have a doubt about how you're doing.

              Good luck!

                Re: I need advice

A clean induction I feel is crucial. Just this week I switched from using Miracle Whip (which has sugar in it) to mayo, and I've had amazing results. Although, I haven't weighed in, I can feel the difference in my energy level and the way my pants won't stay up!

I know it's limited on what you eat, and cutting out those little perks might be tough, but if you can just get through those two weeks, you are going to be amazed and maybe even stay on board longer.

Have a good day and keep us posted!
                Best Wishes!

                  Re: I need advice

Thank you ladies I believe that is whats wrong with the sweets and low carb bread. i will not eat any more low carb sweets and breads and see if that kick starts the weight loss. because i still stay under 20 but it has to be the stuff i was eating. So i will let you'll know if that does the trick. Thanks
