    My name is Scooter. I have just started the induction phase and I'm having great results, or at least I think I'm having great results.

    I am weighing in on Mondays and Thursdays. I just started this past monday, I weighed 285 pounds, as of yesterday morning that has reduced to 277!

    I have a a couple questions for you all.

    1. Isn't it better to make your own salad dressing, ie. vinegar, water, extra virgin olive oil? It seems like the store bought is full of sugar?

    2. Does Italian seasoning (No sugar have carbs? Is it okay to use in salad dressing?)

    3. Why is chili powder bad? Mine has no sugar in it....I read that you're not supposed to use it. I hope I'm wrong....food is kind of tasting bland without it..

    4. 20 carbs or less a day right?

    I've been drinking water like a madman too......2 74 oz containers daily along with big glasses with meals, now the problem is, I'm waking up at night, you get the picture....

    Anyway, nice to meet all of you and I hope to post again!

    You can, but there are alot of good choices that you can purchase. If you like Blue Cheese there is a brand called Marie's that is awesome and there are plent of other choice, you just have to read labels, that means ingredients AND nurtirional info!

    Yes, you may use spices that don't contain sugar or things like corn starch!

    3. Why is chili powder bad? Mine has no sugar in it....I read that you're not supposed to use it. I hope I'm wrong....food is kind of tasting bland without it..

    I don't know where you heard that chili powder was bad? Spices do have carbs though so if you are eating a LOT of it be sure and count the carbs!

    Yes, during induction that is correct!

    Your body will get used to it! I drink 6-7 liters a day and have for several years now!

      Hi, and welcome!

      Making dressings is probably the healthiest, but there really are a lot of great ones, like MotherofGizmo said. I feel like I can't add much, just echo what she said. Seasonings are fine in all forms, including chili powder, so long as they aren't sugar-laced AND you cound the carbs in them. That's hard for seasonings, but doable. If you don't use it already, I highly recommend that you use Fitday.com to track your daily food intake, it's invaluable.

      Yes, 20 carbs or less per day, but that's 20 NET carbs, meaning you subtract out your fiber from the number. In other words you can have 35 carbs and 15 grams of fiber each day and you're within the allowable range.

      Way to go on the water intake, that's spectacular! I went to the bathroom a LOT my first two weeks, but then I think my body got used to the hydration I was giving it and I didn't have to go alllllllll the time like I did at first.

        Thank you everybody!

        This is going to be good, I'm in right mind set finely....and I want to take it off and leave it off!!! I got so upset with myself when Thursday night I missed my walk, so last night I did it twice....my dogs were barking at the end but it was so worth it....I actually wasn't hungry the rest of the night!
