        Besides the loincloth, is there anything else we should know about you Uncle? Have you started the Atkins WOE, or are you at the info. gathering stage?

          Welcome! I shudder when I hear "heya", it brings back memories of a major A** I knew in my past, but welcome just the same!

          So tell us about yourself and why you're here.
          Female / Currently on Extended Induction (again), begun 6/2/08.

          I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!

            I love long walks on the beach, talking by a fire and spooning while watching a movie....oh wait wrong site! Haha J/K.

            I am here trying to find out information about this WOE and chat with you guys .
            Truth be told for two years I have been eating a controlled carb lifestyle and I lost fifty pounds initially! I ended up eating mainly protein and veggies and love it. Then I let it slack for a little while but never completely went crazy for long periods of time. I started at 235 then went to 185. Now I have been working out every day, 3 days weight training and 4 cardio *flexes muscle-but nothing happens lol* and now I am at 205. I know this WOE suits me perfectly and totally works. I hope this doesnt sound too lame but my whole life I have been totally white and out of shape and for once I want to feel confident in going to the beach. I am tired of avoiding it and the people who like going there because of my skin color or lack thereof and body type. So I have been tanning and its working! I cant believe it but it is lol. They make you buy a 45.00 bottle of lotion though whats up with that lol? So at age 35 I want to have a good body and I love working out and what I need to do is lose the fat that plagues my midsection and confidence. So I am in the process of finding out if this WOE allows you to gain lean muscle from working out during induction. I mean I get sore after a good workout and I would think that on a protein rich diet muscle gain would be easily accomplished. I did already post this question and another about the evil spawn caffeine on the main forum. So thats it for me, I guess my goal is too have a 2,4 or 6 pack and the confidence to bare it without blinding everyone haha lol. Tommy

              Well, it sounds like your goals are attainable, and you are well on your way to achievement. What kind of cardio are you doing (just out of curiosity)? I am looking for something other than in-line skating to get me excited about the sweating again... My 5-year old loves it, and that's what makes it something I will do a lot (especially roller-hockey).

              Anyway, it looks like you can look forward to a great time at the beach this summer; you're motivated, asking lots of questions, and keeping yourself on track. I can't think of anything else I can be doing to advise you...

              If you look in the exercise forums, you will see a few ladies (and guys) working out on a muscle building and fat blasting regime that looks very rigorous. I have seen pictures, and am convinced that muscle gain is not a problem here... Since I am not currently doing any weight lifting, I don't think I'm the person to give any specific info. on that topic.

              Anyhoo, good luck - keep it up!

                Well I hope you have all the success in the world, and I totally believe you will, especially with the support of the guys and gals here, this place is the BEST.


                Your 50 pound loss is truly excellent, congrats. Did you change your eating very much when you went back up to 205? If no one answers your questions, you might want to put in a call to 2big4mysize, she's the resident expert on pretty much EVERYTHING Atkins.

                So do you have red hair to go with your lily white skin? Just curious, I'm imaginging the glowing you're doing when you go to the beach.

                        Wow this is fun! I wonder if I am burning calories typing Actually I have blonde hair and blue eyes but I keep my hair short because of the insanely attractive male pattern baldness- so sexy! No not really, but I am not bald yet and I dont have a cul-de-sac on top of my head but still I dont want to be one of those guys who still tries to hold onto something he should just let go of I hope I didnt just offend anyone but hey if you do have the cul-de-sac you could always grow a skullet!

                        When I went back up to 205 I was eating borderline meals and occasionally being really bad. Now I have been working out passionately and I know I have been building muscle and losing fat so my weight has been hovering around 205 and slowly going down. Now I am in induction and doing well and just hoping it isnt disintegrating muscle tissue. Even if it is its okay it led me here to you fine folks and hey thats worth a little sweat and muscle mass Have a great day! Tommy

                            Oh ya for cardio I ride the bike for 30-40 mins at lvl 7 (5 mins) then 10 (4 mins) then 13 for the rest of the time. Then I go to the stair master. OMG have you tried this thing? Its awesome! Its like a staircase that just keeps coming on a rotater.... dealy... thingy- wow I sound smart right now lol. Anyways this thing works all your lower body up to and including your bootius maximus or hopefully bootius minimus lol. I do it on lvl 8 for as long as I can and usually a little longer if a pretty girl is nearby haha. Then I go tan and that my friends is a whole other experience I will share with you soon but I will tell you it is addicting. If you dont mind your skin shriveling and falling off then its perfect for you haha totally kidding. It has boosted my confidence tremendously, well except for the part of being naked and putting lotion on myself with only a thin slatwall door seperating me from society haha. Be blessed! Tommy
