    Hi Everyone,

I am so glad that is website is available--Third day of Induction and I want some of my daughter's cupcakes soooooooooooo bad.

I decided on Atkins after realizing I was, AM addicted to carbs. I love rice and bread and until I read the book, I didn;t realize how many carbs I wa putting away everyday.

I feel great already after 3 days on Induction. I also have been walking 1 1/2 miles since I started. I have exercised since my daughter was born, 5 years ago

Question: I do not like the yolk of the egg--Am I missing something there, if I do not eat it

    We will see what happens

You are missing the beautiful amber color in scrambled eggs I mean thats like eating the cup cake without the frosting haha totally kidding. The older I get the more I think "if I dont like something I dont eat it" Hey I know, take the yolks and smear them all over the cup cakes then you definately wont want them! See they do still serve a purpose!

If You Concentrate On Your Goals I Think It Will Keep Your Mind Off The Cupcakes. My 1st Week I Wanted Pizza, Candy And Anything Else In Sight. In Fact It Was Admin Week So We Had A Luncheon Everyday With All Kinds Of Goodies. I Started To Say To Myself Just One Little Piece. But Then I Thought That One Little Pice Will Throw Me Off. Its Hard But Have Faith.

This Board Is Very Helpful. Its Great In Fact. Ive Been On Since March 23rd And Have Lost 14lbs. Hopefully 6 More By My 2 Week Mark.

Egg yolks have most of the nutrition!!! Amino acids, essential fats, loads of vitamins - so much more than the whites, which don't really have much nutritional value. Of course, Fawn, if you're out there, please correct me if I'm wrong!

Are you okay with omelettes or scrambled eggs? That's an eggsellent way to get your yolks in!!

        Good luck!

I dont like eggs at all, I have been forcing myself to eat them though maybe just one a day, I do ok with them if I spice them up with some pepper and some salt.but plain eggs forget it."I have also from time to time done a little egg foo young kindof mixture, of about 4oz ground beef mixed with 1-2eggs and a small amount of veges then pan fry it in 1tablespoon of butter, it comes out pretty good, if you like foods mixed together like that ,that would be a way of getting your eggs in, but as I understand eggs are a option you dont have to eat them, its just another way of getting your protien .
congrads on the 3 days of success , stick with it for the 14 days and you problebly will feel so good that you wont want cupcakes and junk food anymore! at least thats the way it was for me 2 years ago I lost 130 pounds and I never went back to my old way of eating. even though I have now packed on 40pounds again I still dont feel the need to eat like I did back then.
God bless you on your journey to a new you!. Lisa

I thinks eggs are an option, but they make other foods so much better. Do you like spinach? If so, here's a great way to have your spinach and add eggs to your diet. It's like a quiche in a pan.

Cut up a couple slices of bacon into small pieces. Saute until lightly browned.
Add a green onion or two cut up into small pieces, and cook until onion is limp.
Add a package of frozen spinach and saute until spinach is thawed and begins to "weep".
Beat up a couple of eggs and add to the skillet. Cook until eggs are set.
You can add some shredded cheese to the top when done.

I absolutely DIDN'T like spinach until I ate it this way. Now I love it. Maybe this will help you with your egg issue.
            June Goals
            1. Continue with water
            2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
            3. Continue with videos.
            4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
            5. Build stamina for more walking.

            Goals for May:
            1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
            2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
            3. Post every day.
            4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
            5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

Hi Renowifey and welcome to ADBB and Atkins!

Good for you on the exercise, I'll bet you do feel great! As for the eggs, if they're not your favorite, find another protein/fat food instead...you are definitely not required to eat eggs. And without the yolk, there's no fat...and there lies the benefit of eggs, they are the perfect Induction percentages of fat/protein/carbs!

Hope to see you around the board!
