    hi!
    i'm new here and eager to start my atkins diet. I understood how it works, but still i need some exact information: what do i really have to eat, for example which should be my diet for one day? i wolud really be greatful if somebody could explain it to me! thanks

    Welcome, thanks for joining and posting. We love to meet new folks.
    You need to eat at least 3 meals and you should try to include a protein, fats and carbs in each meal and heavy on the fats.
    There is a printable list of all the allowable foods in the FAQ section.
    Breakfast would be something like, scrambled eggs with muchrooms or low carb - no sugar added Salsa. Salads with protein are great for lunch, taco ( no chips) tuna, egg, cobb, salads are all good, and your dinner should include meat and a veggie. Cheese is a staple.
    Check out the cookbook for ideas and also the Review my Menu section would be a great place to brouse.

      Hi adela v and welcome to ADBB and Atkins!

      Regarding the menu's, there's a sample in the book and also the Food and Recipe Forum here on ADBB has a One Week Clean Induction Menu...that should help you get started!

        thanks a lot!!!!! you are really very kind trying to help me understand how this works!
        i have taken a look at the sample you told me about. i have more questions, if you don't mind:
        1. when you say salad ( i got that part with the dressings and stuff), what should it contain: lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. ?
        2. i'm not a native English speaker( i live in Romania) and i'm not quite sure i know what 1 oz is in grams !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        3. about the sample: what it's written there for one meal , you mean that this is how much i can eat at one meal?!! and lose weight? it's unbelivable!!!!!!!!

          Hi adela v,

          To answer question #1: While on the 14 Day Induction, you need to measure everything so you're sure your Carb count is 20 grams or less. So, your total for the day is 3 cups of veggies...the Other Vegetables List is limited, so only one cup a day. The Salad Vegetables List, you can select 2 cups and 1 cup of the Other Vegetables...or all 3 cups from the Salad Vegetable List. Make sure to eat only those vegetables on those lists, no substitutions.

          #3: YES, you can eat all of that on the sample menu's! Atkins is great!
