  • Hi there, new to the board...

Hi there. My name is Kendall and I'm 21 years old (but not a typical 21 year old). I am new to the Atkin's diet, but not new to dieting. I have done low-carb in the past with Somersizing (yes, Suzanne Somers' diet). I have also done Weight Watchers a few kazillion times. Both diets were successful for me but I fell of the wagon and never seemed to do as well on them again. Before doing Atkins now I was back on Weight Watchers, but it was very hard to eat out. I love that with Atkins I have a much easier time choosing from a menu. I have been on the diet for only two weeks. I lost 7.5 lbs the first week and I will weigh in tomorrow to see my weight loss for the second week. This board looks fantastic. I've already been inspired by success stories and before and after pictures on the board. Hopefully I can continue staying inspired and bring a little inspiration to y'all as well. Thanks for having me!

Hi Kendallina!! Welcome - we are thrilled to have you join us. This is the best place for support and encouragment as you get healthy and lose unwanted weight. I've been doing Atkins for 2 years and I can tell you that this program works. Like you, I tried all the diets out there and never lost the weight. It wasn't until I read Dr. Atkins' book and decided to change my life-style that I got control over my eating and my life.

Become active in the ADBB, utilize the forums to educate yourself, challenge yourself and make friends with the people who are making this happen. Devise a plan of action that will help you through the hard times when you feel like reaching for food. Best wishes!!!!
