Hi everybody! I'm new here, but not to the Atkins Diet. I went on it about 8 years ago and lost 40 lbs with very little effort. Unfortunately, I'm a pasta addict and eventually gained all of it back. I'm also a lazy couch potato and a terrible procrastinator.
I finally quit my 20-year, 2-pack a day smoking habit on December 5, 2005 and although I swore I wasn't one of "those people" who substituted food for cigarettes, apparently I was wrong.
I have gained another 40 lbs. on top of the original 40.
40 is a recurring number with me, since I will be 40 in 6 months. I had two goals for my 40th birthday and one was to quit smoking. I've done that one, and now I'm onto the second one; losing weight--a substantial amount of weight.
I just started back on the Atkins Diet on Saturday, May 20th, and so far so good. I've been reading everybody's posts and think this is going to be a great place to come not only to receive inspiration, but hopefully to give it.
Take care and hope to chat with you all!
