  • Hi...

Hi, my name is Jeremy and I need some help. I have been on Atkins for about a month or so. I have not been extremely strict on the diet and I started at 312 and am now currently 268 (as of this morning). The problem is I have been this weight for like a week now. I have cut out all unneccesary items from my diet to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Hi Jeremy. Lots of water and apparently I'm told (I'm new here) we must do something called exercise. It's a horrible thought I know... but a little walk might just help... I just joined this thing called the six week challenge here on the board so maybe you could join too... It's hard for me at 247 to exercise but I'm going to try. You've lost so much weight already it'll be easier for you. Water water water. Patience patience patience.

      Hi Jeremy,

Welcome! I am new as well, but thought I'd offer my two cents. First off, 44lbs in a month is great! Good work so far. As far as stalling out, you may want to refer to the book. There is a whole chapter on what, aside from incorrect food choices, can effect your weight loss and suggestions on how to amend those problems. I agree also that exercize is a must. Good Luck and hang in there!

        Re: Hi...

Stalling for a week isn't bad, you're body needs time to adjust so you just have to hang in there till it decides to go again. That's really great weight loss, but you're body is probably a little shocked and trying to work out wether to keep losing or try and maintain, so give it time and you'll probably get a big drop suddenly then keep right on losing.

          Re: Hi...

Thanks alot for the advice. I am starting a excercise program. However, I must admit I gave in today to temptation, but I needed that. I realized after I finished eating all those bad things that I did not feel any better about myself or anything. So in a weird kinda way it help me to realize that eating the atkins way is more satisfying than eating junk(and just as easy). Thanks again for all the input I will be postoing again.

Hi Jeremy and welcome aboard. Don't worry about the cheat - just get back on the wagon!

Congratulations on the 44-pound loss! That is very impressive! The one-week stall is nothing to worry about. Your body will adjust. Also, did you take your measurements? Your may lose inches and not pounds for a while. It is exciting to watch those inches melt off!

            I'm glad you are here!

              Re: Hi...

Yeah I took my measurements at first but then forgot for a little bit. I am back on the wagon today. I even got my little brother to join me. He is not huge but is well on his way. Currently he is 6'7" about 285. He wants to get down to about 245. So thanks again for everything. I really find it helpful to get some kind of support because alot of people in the world write me off when I am telling them what I am doing. Thanks again
