    Hi, my name is Vickie. I am new to the Akins way and I feel years behind. I am a Paramedic and it is very hard to find a way of eating that is good for weight control. I decided to give it a try when a co-worker of mine said he was doing Akins; he has had some impressive results. I am on day 4 and all is going well so far, I have had two 24hrs shifts at work and I was able to eat with my partner without too much trouble. I am greatful for this website it has provided much info and support.

    Welcome Vickie. You've definitely came to a place that is filled with support and encouragement to help you succeed on your weight loss. ADBB is full of people who are all working together to make it happen. When you first start this new WOL/WOE - it is a challenge to learn to eat the acceptable foods. Atkins does work.

    I hope you've read the book - Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002 - which will tell you how to do the plan, why it work. If you follow the plan, exercise, drink lots of water and take the supplements to keep your body working at its best - then you will lose the weight.

    The secret is to plan your meals, your exercise and your life. You have to take yourself and your health serious and let nothing stand in your way. You can do this.

    Everyone here is working together to make it happen. The ADBB has many forums with information on health/life issues, challenges, recipes, and motivational inspiration. Everyone here wants you to succeed. Best wishes. Keep us posted.

      Thanks for your reply! I would like to know how to have my stats posted with the stage i'm in like the induction one. I private messaged the people listed for the weight counter but I havent received a response yet. Right now I am on day 6 and I have lost 6lbs. I think this is excellent I just hope it keeps coming off. I have recently been hungry I dont think I have changed anything in my diet is it normal to have a return of hunger? It does seem to be at appropriate times like when I wake up but it wasnt that way at first.

        Welcome Vicki, to post your stats down in your signature you can go to "User CP" at the top left of the page. Then on the left hand side you will see "change signature" click on that and you can type whatever you would like to show up at the bottom of your posts.
        As far as the weight rulers, go to www.tickerfactory.com and follow the instructions there. Afterwards you can copy and past your ruler into your signature. Hope this helps!
