  • HI! I'm NEW! 8th day....so far..

    Hi ADBBers!
    I just started my induction last week and have only lost 2.5 pounds...I am not discouraged...maybe a little frustrated. But I am glad I made the decision to do it!!!

    I have been encouraged by all your postings and I look forward to this journey to healthy living and I hope to help others reach their goals too!

    I am on day 8 and getting ready to go on vacation to Key West on Monday....I so any advice would be appreciated.

    2.5 lbs in 8 days is good. How much are you looking to lose and how tall are you? Remember everyone loses at a different pace, so be patient. I felt the same way when I started but I am on Day 17 and have lost 7lbs. If you think you may be doing something wrong with your meal plan post it and there are plenty of people who can offer suggestions based upon that. Don't forget to exercize and take your vitamins. Welcome!

      Hey Kmrail,

      I have about 60 pounds to loose. I am at 207 and on my 8th day of induction. I know I need to do more exercise. I got a cold 2 days ago and so the exercise has slown down. I am 5'6'' tall and 43yrs old. So, my goal is 149 or so. (size 8-10)
      I eat lots of salads and chicken and beef and eggs so far. I have had some sugar free candy (creme savers) Does sugar free candy slow down weight loss??

        No candy on induction... even sugar free! You have to get the book and read it... it will help tremendously. Hang in there, and you came to the right place. ADBB is the greatest!

          now read read read till your eyes fall out to you can catch up with the reading challenge.

          tips:
          look over those inductions foods really good
          leave the candy for the kids or dh or the neighbor, anybody but you
          plan! that is what will get you through your trip. take induction snacks in a cooler and avoid fast food.

              Welcome. Sorry about your cold. I agree with all the advice you've been given. Make sure you read Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution - edition 2002. It will explain the way that this WOE works. I believe that you need to make a plan so that you know exactly what to do.

              Careful planning is the key to success. Plans are the blue-prints to achieving our dreams. Everyone here wants to see you succeed. You'll get lots of encouragment and support - check out the forums in the ADBB. They cover life/health issues, exercises, recipes, challenges, and are filled with lots of motivational advice.

                    WOW! Thanks for all you words of advice. I must have missed the part about the sugar free candy...no wonder it's hard. How about sugar free pop -cicles???


                    I checked my ketones last night and it was "moderate" and I had to take some nyquil and it went down. The nyquil must have some sugar in it. I coun't breath, does anyone know an alternative cold medicine without sugar???

                    ok..Jimmie you're right... I need to get back in my book and read it "REAL" good.

                    My challenge is to stay on the induction on my trip to the Keys... I willlll stay strong.... I will stay strong....
