  • Hello!

I'm Melissa, and I am 7 days in to induction. I started at 216, which was the highest weight I have been when I was not pregnant. When I saw that number on the scale last Sunday, I knew that I had to do something.

I've felt pretty good this week, and haven't felt deprived at all (even when I drive by Starbucks). I'm a teacher, so I have the summer off, and I'm really looking forward to using it to my advantage to get rooted in this WOE I have to say that finding this board and being able to peruse it for information, inspiration, and recipes has really been helpful to me.

Other than that, I have 2 beautiful children and I've been married for 6 years.

    Have a great day!

Welcome Ktan! Glad you found the ADBB. Congrats on your loss so far...10 pounds! That's great! I'm a teacher to and just started Atkins this summer. I think it'll even be easier when we start back because we can get our daily routine down and have something to keep us busy too. Hope to see you around the boards.

            Re: Hello!

            Thanks guys!

I am still feeling really great, and really want to do it this time. It's been a tumultuous year for me--I had a hysterectomy last summer (when I was 26, so there was some emotional stuff involved), which started a 20lb weight gain, then my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer, and he died in April, and then my grandfather died in May. I know that I've been using food as a comfort, and I am really trying to work on all aspects of this weight loss.

I have really been inspired by this board. To be completely honest, I thought I would do Atkins for a few weeks, take a week off when we go to the beach, and then start doing WW or something when we get back. However, after doing so well this week, and feeling so great, I've made a firm committment to do this WOE full-force. I've already started looking into some of the restaurants at the beach, and I'm jotting down snacks that I can make easily while we're there. I just feel like this is really going to be the time that I finally lose all the weight that I need to get rid of
