  • Atkins Veteran returns to "Do it again"!

Hey everyone! I've been gone for awhile....lost in the land of eating all the poisons out there that "comfort" only for a few moments! However, 3 weeks ago returned to the only WOL that works for me!

I have lost 21 lbs in this 3 weeks, and am committed again to stick with the plan, so that I can regain my life that is being destroyed by the massive weight I carry every day. (I hit an all time high of 471, back in October! )

Pray for me, as this will be a VERY LONG JOURNEY!!!
My mother is here for 2 months to help me stay focused on my weight-loss and to help me with the children/house etc. I am not a "little girl" anymore...but am blessed to have a generous and self-less mother who, despite her years(89) continues to help me in my quest to regain my life.

As many overweights will admit, I too, am a stress-eater....and until I learn how to handle stress and negative emotions in a more positive way, I will continue to "regain" any weight I lose! SO****Part of my assignment for myself is to learn some "anger management techniques" that do not include "stuffing my face, or punishing myself for what someone else DID!" Sound rediculous doesn't it! But that's what I do! It has to stop!

I'll be around. I welcome any input from those who care to comment! Kudos to all who have won their personal battles! I am determined to reclaim my life as well!

    Not quitting.....

I'm so happy you've decided to get back on the wagon and take control of your life. I've learned that the only way to make it happen is to change your attitude and your unhealthy habits. Going into this WOE with a positive mind is half the battle. Don't look back...look forward to a new healthy life-style.

For me, the ADBB was a life-saver. The friendship and knowledge that I gained here helped me know that I wasn't doing it alone. It helps to know others are there and understand what you are going through. There are many forums that will educate you on health/life/recipes/journals/and challenges to keep you motivated.

You will have up and down days, so making a plan to get through them will keep you from quitting. Having a plan made this attempt at losing weight work for me. You can make it happen. We are all here to help you and share the journey.

Thanks everyone! I feel most welcome! It's been a good day....am only weighing once or twice a week, trying to avoid the emotional trauma of being a slave to the scale!

                Hi Dee,

                Welcome back!

I'm so glad that you are returning to the Atkins WOL. This is the only WOE that works for me too. I also returned not that long ago after a sort absence. It really feels good to be back on track.

You are fortunate to have a mother that is supportive of your weight loss efforts. Good for you!

While your trying to learn your stress management techniques... if you feel the need to stuff your face... do it in a LC way. Keep plenty of LC foods/snacks available for those high stress days. That way, if you're having a tough day, you'll still be on program and you'll still drop weight!

Okay, I'm all set now!!! I got my "ticker"! Look! Isn't it cute! A bit daunting to have a 3 digit goal....but that's okay, I'm used to it, so don't anyone tell me to take "baby steps"!! I have to have the end goal in my mind and believe that it will happen as long as I don't give up! 'Nite all!

Thanks guys! Today was a good day....sneaked on the scales again....weight was down another 1.5 lbs!!! Not officially weighing until Wednesday! I never could stick to my own rules! I have these "awful scales" that actually TALK TO ME! They will weigh up to 440lbs....They say, "Hello." "I'm ready." (like they are waiting for the inevitable! LOL) "You weigh ____lbs" "Goodbye." If I go OVER 440....they just BEEEEEEEP! Like I said, they are "awful"!! Truthful, but awful! A gift from good ole' Mom! (I could turn the sound off....but then I wouldn't get the full effect of having the stupid thing "say out loud" what I don't want to think about! However, it is nice to be able to hear them again, and not have them BEEEEP at me...screaming in agony, because I was over their limit! Oh well.....G'nite all! Hugs all around!
