Ok so it was my birthday today and i totally blew my diet tonight and had a milkshake and a slice of cake. Ahhhhh I was on the 8th day of induction and doing so well. I am so mad at myself...what do i do know? Do i continue with the atkins or do i just take a break and then start over?
    thanks.

The best thing to do is get right back on track and continue with induction to minimize the damage from the cake and milkshake. Adding a couple days to your induction may be a good idea depending on how the slip affected your weight loss.

If you take a break there's a good chance you may not start again. Don't worry, a little slip isn't the end of the world...as long as you keep on with induction and learn from your mistake you'll come out the better for it.

Good luck with the rest of your weight loss!

    Also, Happy Birthday!

You can't undo what has been done. Its best to jump back on induction. Now is the time to make a plan so that next time you are tempted...you have alternative things to do instead of caving in. Taking walks, drinking water, exercising, reading, visiting ADBB, calling a friend, look up recipes of 'substitute' foods for the occassion, painting, listening to music and meditating....there are all kinds of things that you can do that can help you resist the temptation - if you really want to. BEST WISHES.... Don't be so hard on yourself....get back on induction right away. You can do it.

Take this feeling of absolute remorse and put it somewhere you can pull it out again and remember how much you dont like it. I get the same way too.

Some might not like my comments..

It was your birthday. You deserve to enjoy a few things you like on your birthday, even food. Now that it is over you can devote yourself fully to induction on Atkins. Forget about it. Living in regret could make getting on track harder. Happy birthday and good luck with induction!
