  • Hello! - I'm New!

    Hello, I started Atkins on Monday, June 19th.
    I have a friend that lost over 60 pounds and was an inspiration to me, so I decided to give it a try. I have found that I really haven't felt hungry much between meals - which is great. I did Weight Watchers a few years back and I was totally obsessed with food - usually HIGH CARB foods! Always thinking of what I could eat and stay within points, and still be able to eat dinner, so this has been really great! I have decided to weigh only once a week, on Sunday Evenings. So far I have lost 3.5 lbs. (I also took my measurements)
    Today I was sort of having feelings of "How can this worK?" I read the book and understand the process, but never being able to eat the wonderful food that I have been eating and still loose weight? This is so amazing to me!

    Anyway, I am sure this board will keep me motivated as well as all the encouragement I need from my friend (My husband calls this the bacon diet so he really isn't that much support - although he did say that I looked like I was loosing weight this morning!) I look forward to meeting you all and visiting this site often.

    Hello. Welcome. So glad that you read the book and understand the process. Atkins really does work. Its been a life-saver for me. I've been doing it for 2 years and never regretted it for a day.

    Check out the forums - which are full of inspiration, motivation and advice that will help you make this way of eating a way of life.

    Many people have misconceptions about Atkins and thats okay. When your husband sees you getting healthier and thinner, happier and self confident...he will realize that you are on a very healthy weight loss plan. My husband didn't believe in this WOE either, but now he is a true believer and advertises to anyone who says they need to lose weight.

      Don't let any naysayers get ya down! My family and friends weren't supportive at all, but I kept at it and came through and I know you will too! They will become believers once they see your success. If you need anything...just give me a shout!

          congrats on the loss so far.

          When your partner realises that its more than just a "bacon diet"thats making you feel more healthier and enegetic than you've ever felt in your life.They usually change their attitude towards this woe quicksmart.
