  • Hello folks!

Hello, I've been on Atkin's before. I stayed on it about six months and lost 30 pounds (down to 200). Then I was happy with myself and went off it. Needless to say, I blew back up to 235-240 fairly quickly.

Now, a couple of years later, it's time for me to do the same thing again, but this time keep an ongoing weight loss going. And also my plan is to try for 180 or less too. I'm a large frame guy and 5'11" or so tall. So I don't think I'll ever get to 150 or that I even should!

I'll just have to focus and maintaning weight when I reach my goal. Glad to meet you all, and have a diet caffiene free sam's choice on me!

    Re: Hello folks!

Hey Shortfoot! Welcome to ADBB. Your story sounds all too familiar. A couple of tips I'd recommend are:
    1) do induction and then move right into Ongoing Weight Loss phase where you add foods back in. You learn how to eat for the rest of your life. The weight still comes off and you get lots of variety which helps you stay on track.
    2) Make your meals BETTER than what everyone else around you is having. Work your atkins to satisfy all your senses and you won't have trouble at all. There are tons of recipes on this forum, and at http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/ that are simply delicious. And you certainly can't feel like you are missing out when you eat better than everyone else does!
    3) Post here on ADBB so that we can help you out and keep you on the straight and narrow LOL It's 100% support here, we want to see you succeed!
